"Much has changed and plenty of parking!!"
This location has been remodeled since my last visit. The lobby area looks great, very modern and appealing. I booked this hotel for my parents, who were driving their truck with 27’ trailer. Parking in San Diego is usually such a pain. Heather and Bradley welcomed us warmly - they went above and beyond to ensure that my parents felt comfortable with where they were leaving their vehicle. There were two other uhauls and a large box truck in the parking lot.
"Turning business into a vacation."
I stayed at The DoubleTree from January 1st thru February 2nd 2018. Because of an early flight into San Diego I ended up arriving several hours before check in. I was worried that I was going to have to check my bags and kill time until check in, but much to my surprise I was greeted with a room already to go. My room was very clean and quiet and had a very pleasant and relaxing feel that matched the upscale dining and pool areas. I really liked the open lounge that led to the patio area. I was scheduled for meetings all three days off site with various departure times in the mornings and rides back in the evenings. I got to know the shuttle staff quite well. Shawn and Tony were absolutely amazing, both of them giving me their personal cell numbers so that I could reach them at a moments notice. Both Shawn and Tony were easy to converse with and made the rides very pleasant. On one evening I scheduled a ride for the next morning but found out that my asked for time was before the shuttle was set to start running, Front Office Manager John Hovis stepped in and offered to personally drive me to my morning destination himself, which he did, this was not expected and went above any expectations I could have asked for or had. Every member of the staff that I had the pleasure of dealing with was very friendly and outgoing. I will definitely be returning for a real vacation!
"My home away from home"
I stay here often for work and it feels like home. The facility is quiet, the restaurant and bar are great, and the staff is very helpful. Getting there is fairly straightforward (for San Diego) and there is plenty of parking. Parking costs about $15a day.
"Regret staying at this hotel. Would not stay again"
Regret staying at this hotel. Poor customer service. Disgusting practices for housekeeping with management supporting this behavior. Run from this hotel. Beds are soft and uncomfortable. They need to be changed.
"Can you care a little'"
Toilet was broken during a sold out weekend due to the Farmers Open. Had a Deuce floating around and it would not flush. Requested Maintenance 3x and they never showed. Had to use the public restroom and endure the smell of my old Deuce since the hotel would not fix my clogged toilet.
