"Vibrant Chang Mai"
Had a great time in Chang Mai, the hotel is right next to the night market which goes on forever, full of street food, crafts and clothing, bands and dancing - super culled and friendly. The room was a good size, very clean. We were left a small gift each day and they even made a little birthday cake in the room on my birthday - very thoughtful and tasty! Breakfast was a vast selection of different foods. We had a couple of lovely days out at the elephant care home nd then a tour of a mountain village where the hill tribe is growing coffee instead of opium and then a trek around the highest peak - it was a bit misty so didn’t see a lot apart from lichen and ferns! Great place to stay as a base to explore the area
"Thumbs up for this decent hotel and its wonderful staff"
We spent three nights in Dusit D2 Chiang Mai during Loi Krathong/Yee Ping festival 2017. The hotel is conveniently located in terms of the event (the two major bridges over the Ping River where people set off sky or water lanterns are just within minutes' walk. Not to mention that the night bazzar is just half block away. The facilities are well maintained. The entire staff was very nice and welcoming, especially helpful when you are in need. In the morning of our departure day, the pre-booked taxi didn't show up (or maybe just being late). The Pavilion manager, Mr. Eng, called, and quickly arranged a hotel van sending us to the airport for free.
"Possibly my new 'favourite' hotel... at least in Chiang Mai"
Had two king rooms as requested but the boys who had a room where the kings were twin beds, had the better bathroom, walk in shower whilst ours you had to climb over a quite high sided bathtub, to stand under a shower head that only came up to my chest height. The 'daily gift' that some other reviewers have commented on was, small but surprisingly welcome and gracious although I shouldn't say 'surprising' because that's what our experience of the hotel was, welcoming and gracious, all the staff were wonderful, friendly and personalble from the doormen and reception staff at check in/out, to the considerate, bar staff and cleaners, the restaurant staff were also very friendly but honestly they all were. Plus efficient and helpful whether seeking directions, a better quality of coffee at breakfast (ask for an espresso) or a special cocktail they came through for us every time. The rooms are quiet and comfortable and the quality of the sleep excellent. Plus the hotel is 50m from the night bazaar (check out the basement artist arcade at the end of the lane way on the right hand side where it joins the Main Street for some great paintings) and either a comfortable walk past antique shops and boutiques (or a cheap tuk tuk ride or even cheaper songthaew ride) from the old city. Great location, great staff, great hotel. Clearly we were impressed!
"Great hospitality and personalised service!"
Not quite a 5-star hotel as claimed but remarkable personalised service and comfortable accommodation, good restaurant with excellent and affordable food. Close to airport but not the old city or the night bazzar, right opposite the Maya Shopping Mall with plenty of boutique shops and food choices nearby.
"Modern spot in great location"
Stayed here for 3 nights in september with my boyfriend. I was dissapointed they didn't have a king room for us on arrival as I requested but they put 2 twins together for us, but there was that awkward gap. We were greeted with lemongrass juice in unique rolly polly cups on arrival. The concierge was very helpful throughout including helping us make phone calls to make sure ours tours picked us up. The breakfast buffet is expensive for thai standards but not US standards. The food was delicious & had much more than just breakfast food including pad thai & fried rice. The location is perfect, right on top of the night market.
