"Best location in Chiang Mai - Good gym - Good breakfast"
Very nice rooms, and a solid breakfast buffet. I would call this a solid 4 star hotel, and worth the price after a long flight. More expensive than many other hotels, but still cheap for westerners! My wife and I loved the central location, and their gym was the best I've seen in Thailand. Easy to get to the old city, and footsteps away from the night market. Will definitely reccomend this to anyone traveling to Chiang Mai.
"Comfortable and well located hotel in Chiang Mai"
Great staff at the reception and quick checking in. Comfortable bedroom with bathrobe, minibar, sofa and working desk. Clean bathroom as well. The hotel was full and I could not get a double bed as I used to have during previous visits. In this configuration, the bathroom is equipped with a bathtub that is bit cumbersome to climb in for showering; take care of not slipping. The location of the hotel is excellent with the night market and Loi Kroh road accessible in 1 minute walking. Moderate cost as well.
"Great location ."
Good hotel , amazing service . Not one of the fancy hotels , but it is the right one for being in the middle of everything . Night bazar 100 meters away. Food vendors , shopping , money exchange all short walk away.
"One of the best stylish hotel in Chiang Mai"
I have stayed in D2 a few time since it was newly opened in 2007. The hotel is great in many aspects such as the design, room, facilities and especially the service. This hotel is really unique in their own style, They event have the own house music which is composed very nicely. The original building use to be a 1-2 star local hotel, what D2 have done for the renovation is really great in the way. When I walk in the lobby and meet the hotel staff, the atmosphere make me feel bright and energetic. Recently I visited the hotel again. They still keep everything well standard. Especially the services from energetic staff which is very friendly and helpful. Though the room space is a bit tiny but the clever design make me feel comfortable and sleep well. I love the gym where is on the roof top is really great spot for exercise. I will visit them again.
"Very nice! Great Gym!! But check you don't have a connecting door into another room - can get very noisy!"
Very nice! Great Gym!! But check you don't have a connecting door into another room - can get very noisy! We had the studio suite king bed - spacious and everything works fine. We had to move rooms as there was a connecting door into the next room which wasn't big enough for the gap, letting in neighbour noise - after several hours listening to a frazzled woman scream at her children, we requested a room change - they couldn't oblige that night, but did the next day. Furnishings a little grotty for a relatively expensive room. FANTASTIC fitness centre and beautiful pool, outside in the air and great for swimming laps. Breakfast is good but predominantly asian options. No soy option unless you ask and then very sweet. Omelettes and eggs available and all the usual trimmings. Hotel restaurant worth a visit - the wrap your own betel leaves are amazing and service attentive and professional. Good location, walking distance to temples and museums. If you are there on Sunday, do visit the Sunday walking street, which offers an afternoon and night market with more handicraft options. Chaing Mai is like a little Bangkok in terms of traffic noise and smell. We went to the Botanical gardens - beautiful and well worth a visit - about 12kms out of town.
