We have stayed at the D2 a number of times now and have never had a problem. I cannot complain again, it was great, but I will never use Expedia again to book any hotels for me. Yes I can highly recommend the D2
"Love the location and the clean room"
The best thing about this hotel is the location. While it is thick in the middle of the night entertainment area, it is also in its little quiet corner. The hotel is just off Loi Kroh Road and on Chang Klan Road. These two roads have stalls, markets, restaurants, pubs and bars. The old city is just a 20 minute walk and Wararot market is 15 minutes down Chang Klan Road. The market is definitely worth a visit for its market and food stalls. The room is quite spacious and clean although my room lacked a bath. It wasn't am issue as I don't usually use the bath. I had a room on the third floor which I thought could have been noisy but my room was very quiet. The hotel is also quiet even though I was told it was full. The staff of the hotel was really friendly, from the doorman to the receptionists to the security guards outside who were always around. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay there again.
"Great Location "
This hotel gets 4 stars for the location, i would stay here again just for the location. The hotel I️t self is nice but noting amazing. The rooms are decent and clean, what else could you ask for. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet is extremely expensive (even if they offer you BOGO), go get food on the street (it’s so much better). Don’t do laundry at the hotel, there are a bunch of local companies that will come pick up and drop off your Clothes for 50bhat per kilo while the hotel charges per piece!!
"Simple rooms, great location."
The rooms were simple and basic but the location is very convenient. The staff were the best part of this hotel. Helpful and Friendly. The only bad part of my stay was the breakfast buffet. When I arrive at the buffet around 7:00 am, there was almost no food left. A big group of Chinese tourists had just finished all the food. For the next 3 days, I decided not to go to the buffet but go try out some local food outtside.
We spent 4 nights here including New Years Eve. The location is absolutely perfect, literally backing onto a great night market and within walking distance of the river area and the old town. The staff are fantastic and the communal areas of the hotel are superbly furnished In a contemporary style. The downsides are that the rooms are becoming a bit tired and could do with a bit of a refurb, ours smelt of cigarettes. That said, they are a good size and beds are comfy. The breakfast is a bit disappointing, whilst there is a lot of choice, some of which is more for Chinese than English tastes, the overall quality was average. The hotel also faces a challenge in getting people to use the bar and restaurant as there is so much to see on the door step, this means that there is little incentive to sit in an empty bar. I have sympathy with the staff who are making huge efforts to encourage guests to use these facilities. Location, price and staff mean I would recommend it as a great base to explore Chiang Mai.
