"Funky hotel... BUT"
Like always, 4 stars but sh... internet, pro version to pay for... why is it always the same, and excess of shampoo, but restricted internet' Why not pay 2.00 EUR for the soap, or water... and have to go through a payement process for a few Euros of internet... Moreover staff without any initiative, we where 9 of the same group, an extra room was free but the clerc had to check the rate with a lot of bureaucracy... while the others had evidently the same rate... 4 stars are not about decorating only, but absence of bureaucracy (to be treated internally, not in front of the client) is also desirable !
"Well located design hotel"
Located close to the Dom as well as the Reeperbahn in St Pauli. Easy walk down to the river as well as lots of city centre attractions. If you don't want to walk it is also close to the U-Bahn. Rooms are really nice with a modern design, comfortable beds and the room we stayed in was quiet and clean. There is a good selection of drinks at the bar in the lobby where you will also find the restaurant. We did try breakfast one morning and although it is a bit expensive (as are most hotels) the food was good quality and there were plenty of options.
"Great stay, nice location"
Stayed at the East Hotel during a recent visit to Hamburg and enjoyed it a lot. We stayed at an Aqua room (or suite') and liked the spacious layout, comfortable bed and pillows and the great design. It was funky, but not over the top, and still functional. We enjoyed drinks at the bar / restaurant one evening and liked the vibe there. Staff was very friendly and helpful and we would for sure be back. The location is terrific with Reeperbahn around the corner and a subway station a few minutes away.
"One of the best, for couples"
This is one modern hotel! We stayed there for three nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere definitely cozy. The rooms are a bit strange since the bathroom has no walls, but for a couple it’s just better. The double bath is just amazing. There’s also a built in Bose speaker that you can connect via Bluetooth, just perfect! The restaurant is just amazing. If your looking into fine dining or a great dining experience, just book a table there. But do it early! They were totally full on a Saturday evening but they managed to squeeze us in at 8pm even though it was fully booked. Try the sushi! The only criticism I have about this hotel is the prices of the minibar and the breakfast. We did not to include breakfast (around €19 p.p.) but on Saturday morning we decided to try it out. It was quite a casual breakfast with eggs, bacon, bread, yoghurt etc. 10-15mins after we had sat down and eaten the pre cooked eggs the waiter then decided to let us know about the fresh omelets they had to offer. Nowhere was a sign or anything that suggested they offered this! So we were disappointed but decided to eat there on Sunday morning, until we realized afterwards that on weekends the rates are much higher, or €32 per person! It was called business breakfast or something like that. So we didn’t go back there. But all in all, very happy with the hotel and it’s location.
"Funky hotel, well located"
Spent two nights here for a weekend break. Great service from reception team. Funky design. Rooms decent size, strange layouts but that adds interest. Ridiculously expensive breakfast so we ate out. Easy walk from the two nearest stations.
