With all the booming new Hotels around the metro, Edsa Shangri-la seems like an old dame past its hey-day. I used to stay here when I was younger and boy was everything top-notch. I haven't stayed here in years until October this year to attend a business symposium. While waiting for our room, we ate at the lobby restaurant. I had the cheese platter (which was very good). I liked the live piano music that serenaded one as one ate. Service however was slow for a hotel restaurant. The place was not remotely full so I do not understand why our orders took more than 30 mins (for a cheese platter and wine), and that was only after one was able to locate a waiter/waitress. Our room in the main tower (not the garden tower) was nice and clearly renovated from the last time I stayed. Still, the place somehow felt old. Breakfast was the buffet type. Since it was Sunday, the restaurant was packed but they quickly accomodated us on the 2nd floor restaurants (which served the same buffet). Food was good. But compared to the other hotels in the metro, there's just an overall air of oldness and tiredness in the place, kind of like another old hotel in the bay area before its revamp and recent resurgence. This place badly needs an injection of vibrancy. Perhaps the only beauty left is the pool, which makes this place still a great staycation for families with kids.
Excellent facilities fair service. Got problem only upon checking out due to long queuing , very poor anticipation especially for the management. And no effort was made to ease up the long lines. It took us 2 hours upon checking out.. We have to bring our luggages ourselves one by one
Very nice experience. Staffs were courteous, Helpful, accomodating, and friendly. Overall experience were unforgetable. The location was very convenient and very accessible to othet establishments suchbas shopping malls..etc.
"My 30th Birthday! "
I really wanted to be at Edsa Shang for my 30th birthday so my husband booked us a room for us and my family so they can spend time with me in my special day. The check in was a breeze with full assistance from the staffs in the lobby. The lobby was grand with beautiful Christmas decors. The room was just average though just like other hotels, clean, complete toilet kits etc. We have the view of the city and a little bit of the pool area. We had tried their HEAT buffet dinner which was really expensive. I recommend to book your reservation at eatigo (app) for 30-50% discount for food. I celebrated my birthday with my loved ones and I spent a lot of cash for the food only (i suppose it’s a lot). I cannot ate at that time maybe because of preggy issues so I think the buffet price was too much for me (not making the most out of it :) ) We enjoyed the buffet breakfast (which was free with our hotel staycation). Shangrila mall was just a distance away so we opt to walk. There were really many taxes and charges here involved including govt taxes, VAT and they evey have service charges for their hotel accomodation so be prepared. Overall, it was really a nice hotel though hope they can improve their reception for in-house guests and guests attending the seminar because the lobby was chaos when we check out. Also, as I had said I celebrated my 30th birthday here and I expect more of their complimentary cake in the room but it was a bit disappointing knowing this is a luxury hotel.

Comfortable stay, front desk people very accomodating, check in and check out was a breeze, waiters very pleasant during meals, love the Christmas decors contributing to the holiday mood, will check into the hotel on another occasion.
