Enterprise Hotel is a short walk away from Fieramilanocity, on the way to the Pero-Rho New Trade Fair Centre, and a few minutes from the city centre; its location makes it a particularly stylish venue for fashion shows, exhibitions and an unforgettable stay in Milan.
"An unexpected gem"
We stayed here for 4 nights and this hotel was unexpectedly lovely. We were 2 adults and a teenager. The room is not big but it is a city hotel so it was good enough for us. The beds were comfortable, the in-room air conditioning control works well, it had in room tea and coffee making facilities, comprehensive bathroom amenities, good shower, great bedroom slippers, enough room to hang up your stuff and put your many suitcases away without tripping over yourself. We arrived late in the evening and on a bank holiday weekend. We were lucky to catch the restaurant before it closed. The food was good even if the selection was small. I had the grilled octopus which was particularly good. We were really exhausted after traveling for 26 hours so didn't stay for dessert but as a whole, I would recommend the restaurant as a first night meal before you get adventurous in Milan. I have to admit that the thing that gave this hotel all the stars here is the breakfast selection. It has the whole range from hot to cold to cereal to bread to fruit to salad and the best of it is that it has a very good selection of gluten free alternatives. Not that any of us has gluten intolerance but it is the first hotel I've seen where they have a good selection of gluten free and lactose free products and super foods products. I appreciated the tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. And the range of fruit - dry, pre-cut and fresh fruit. The breakfast crew is fast, efficient and polite and if we weren't in such a hurry to go exploring, one could honestly stay at breakfast for a while. The hotel reception was warm and helpful even when they were busy. We had a sparkling wine one day while waiting for them and most days, there is still and sparkling water, candy and some snacks. So, if you did have to wait, it's really not a hardship. The hotel is not near an underground station but it is near a tram stop. If you buy the ATM day pass from the Tabac (corner store) that's to the right of the hotel (about 40m'), you can use it for all public transport for a 24 hour period. The pass costs €4.50. Remember to get a map from the hotel. It is a good map to get you around and it shows you the underground stations as well. I think the bus stations have maps as well. Those maps are useful because it gives you the bus stops, the train and tram stops. The trams are a great way to get around and I'd say that if you are staying in Milan for a few days, by the end of day 2, you'd be jumping on the buses and trains with abandon. I love the city of Milan - it is well connected, such a lovely mix of old and the new, the couture with the high street, beautiful parks, great food and it helps to have a great start in the morning and a relaxing hotel to come back to in the evening.
"Good and comfortable stay"
We stayed here for 2 nights during our stay in Milan. Location: Not near to the main area of attraction (where the duomo and castle is), but there is a direct tram (no. 1) to the duomo and main shopping district which takes around 30 mins to reach. From the airport, you can take the Malpensa Airport shuttle bus (should be at terminal 2) and alight around 600m from the hotel and walk. Room: Decent and clean with a small toilet. Not very sound proof as the walls are pretty thin. Service: Hospitable and approachable as we needed to visit a clinic for an urgent medical condition and the staff kindly provided us good directions and offered to translate in English to the medical personnel should we need to. The main issue we had was the double charging as we booked through hotels.com and it indicated that the hotel will charge us. Hence, we thought that they would charge us after our stay. Instead, there was double charging as they charged us both upon confirmation of the booking as well as after we checked out. This matter could be easily resolved with a more meticulous check by the staff in future. Overall, it was still a decent stay and we would recommend this hotel for its value.
"Too Kool for Skool"
We stayed for 5 nights with 3 children. This hotel is very different to the type we would usually stay in, preferring the rather large chains as you know what you will get (most of the time). However we were not disappointed. The lobby is beautiful, really stylish and furnished to a high standard. There are meeting rooms, a bar area and an outside sitting area, all very stylish and chic. Top marks to the designer, a great place to relax. We honestly thought they would not appreciate having children running around their lobby but the staff were more than accommodating and the hotel is very child friendly. We arrived almost 2 hours before check-in, but were greeted warmly and offered complimentary drinks and nibbles, the kids dug into the complimentary sweets on offer. The reception area is a round table, different and unique, we liked it. We were transported to a suite almost a full 2 hours before our check-in time! However when we realised the suite was not the one we requested with the kitchenette and mezzanine we were shown another one with what we wanted. Without any fuss whatsoever our new room was cleaned, luggage and a spare bed transported to our new suite whilst we went for a walk and had lunch. All the staff were fantastic and never made you feel anything was a problem. Our suite was clean and modern, with everything well appointed. The bathroom was clean with a nice power shower. Complimentary toiletries provided on a regular basis and fresh towels when requested. Whatever we asked for we were provided with e.g. extra towels, cutlery, condiments, towels. Daily housekeeping was a bit hit and miss but really nothing to complain about. The bedroom and lounge have flat screen TV's with lots of channels including English speaking ones. There is a small courtyard and it is a nice place to have your morning (complimentary) coffee or have evening drinks. Our suite was close to the car park and we didn't hear much noise except for one morning when the bin men woke us up around 4am, however we phoned the hotel reception and within a few minutes everything was silent. The safe in our suite had a low battery but again not a problem for us. There were a few wifi blackspots in our suite, but wifi in the lobby was good. There is a small exercise room with a multigym and some cardio machines. The spa on the top floor is worth a visit and has great views. We did not eat at the restaurant although the food looked great but was bit on the pricier side. There are some restaurants only a few minutes walk away and a co-op supermarket 10 minutes walk a away. The tram stops right outside the hotel. The Milan gate is a 20-25 minute walk away and there are more restaurants looking onto the park. The hotel is a 40-45 minute pleasant walk (through the park) away from the Duomo di Milano. There is a 5 euro per person (>18 years of age) per night city tax charge which you have to pay on check out. The surrounding area feels a bit run down due to graffiti on the walls etc, although we found this common place in Milan, the hotel itself feels like an oasis in the middle of the desert after a day out shopping in Milano and is in a residential area. Again we were surprised at how child and family friendly the hotel and staff were and as a result we saw a lot of families especially Brits. Interestingly the hotel also had lot's of couples as it was able to accommodate them in the main hotel building and families in the apartments making it an ideal place to stay for almost anyone visiting Milan. We had a fantastic time and would recommend Enterprise, and once again I would state the staff were absolutely fantastic, this hotel is too Kool for Skool! Fab place to stay!
We stayed here for 3 nights last week. What a lovely hotel. Particular thanks to Elisa and her team whose level of service was exceptional. Excellent location to central Milan and all the staff at the hotel were very helpful with advice on getting around the city.
"Great stay but hard to get service at the desk at times"
Our rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. The reception desk is a huge round table which looks very chic but not practical for guests as it creates a "family" atmosphere with the guests and not much privacy. Also its hard to create a line to see who is next and hard to get away form it with lots of people standing in your way. The desk staff are REALLY helpful but spend so much time with guests that current guests can't get a quick answer to anything. The breakfast was wonderful as was the restaurant. The food was excellent both nights we dined there. Easy access to the tram and buses to the city center.
