"Average accommodation in a superb location"
Overall a very good option for exploring Cordoba for the first time. Hotel has seen better days and the rooms have some shortcomings. Very soft (old') mattresses & pillows. Combined bath / shower that is difficult to get in an out of - and would be very unsafe for elderly or infirm people. Faulty air conditioner. Staff generally helpful & friendly although unable to help us with an early check-in (had to wait until 2 pm for the room). Good lunch & dinner service at the restaurant. Average buffet breakfast with poor attention to food quality (e.g. old fruit juice that had begun to ferment, stale-tasting bread and scrambled eggs that were allowed to go dry and crusty). Large car park in the basement - although driving in this part of town is not easy. Saving grace is the five-star location, right next to the Mezquita and within easy walking distance of many other attractions, shops, restaurants & interesting old laneways. This area is very noisy and bustling with activity from about 10am - 6pm, but outside those hours it's very quiet. We had a room on the 1st floor overlooking the main street & Mezquita but were never disturbed by noise at night. Overall a good deal for the moderate tarriff.
"A hidden gem"
This is a first-class hotel, located right in the historical old city. You have to drive through limited access streets to get there, but once you're safely parked in their lot they will send your car plate number to the police so you won't get a ticket. They are right next to the Mezquita, the tourist information center and the place where the free walking tours and the bus tours star, and a short walk across the bridge from where the walking tour for the bus company starts. Breakfast was ample and it is possible to order eggs any way you like them, although the scrambled eggs at the buffet were delicious. The staff was very friendly, and it was clear that they enjoyed working there. Unusually for a hotel, there was no kettle in the room. The desk clerk told me that because it's only a three-star hotel, they don't offer guests kettles with coffee and tea in the rooms, but I expect a lot more from a chain as upscale as Eurostars. This would definitely be my hotel of choice if I visit Cordoba again.
"No 1 rating location"
What a location - my bedroom opens out onto the stunning mosque-cathedral. Parking underground absolutely next door was such a win win (€13 p/d👍). The lovely Andalusian style of this hotel fitted perfectly in this most attractive city; full of charm! The front desk staff were very professional, helpful and a big plus for not only spoke English but more important understood English. The room was cosy but had everything I needed in it. Beds comfy; nest & clean! Breakfast buffet at €8 extra was air. Vicki Sydney Australia
"Cafeteria is horrorible"
We did not stay in the hotel but we ate at the Cafeteria which is located directly beside the world famous mosquete. The menu looks alright and the prices are also ok on th first look. Unfortunately that are the only positive aspects of the Cafeteria. We ordered two pizzas and both were not selfmade. The pizza is the same u can get from the supermarket, right the frozen one! For 8,80€ a frozen pizza' A very bad rip off. I can only recommend to stay away from the Cafeteria.
"Pros and cons; convenient location vs. chiming clock"
The hotel is next to the Mezquita which is the main reason we visited Cordoba. The convenience of walking to it and to the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos is a definite advantage, as is the underground garage, if arriving by car. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with abundant choice. The room and bath were very clean. We were on the second floor and had a lovely view of the inner courtyard. However, if you want to sleep at any time other than midnight to 9 am, you will be interrupted every 15 minutes by the clock marking the quarter hours, and every hour from 9 am through midnight you will hear the bell LOUDLY gong. Since we didn't need to sleep before midnight or get up after 9 am we didn't ask for a quieter room. If you plan to rest during the afternoon you should ask if they have soundproofing. The other negative was the unpredictable nature of the reception staff. They ranged from friendly to detached (but still helpful) to nearly dismissive over our stay of 2 nights. If they had a more even-tempered staff, it would have been a better experience.
