"Only ate at their restaurant...but if I would had discovered it before I would have stayed there!"
Faena hotel is ranked as leading hotels of the world and even at $450 per night I think I would be worth it to stay there. Incredible swimming pool with crown fountain in center, gourmet food and top service. We only ate at their El Mercado restaurant but had a great meal on Christmas night. The portions were gigantesque and considering the location the price was very reasonable for quite fine dining and impeccable service. They forgot to bring a plate and we were very glad…since we already had far too much too eat. However, I pointed it out to ensure that they would not charge us for it. As an excuse they offered us a huge plate with numerous desserts at no charge!
"Unusual hotel - decoration by Phillipe Starcke"
Phillips Starcke fans plus most others would love this hotel - a conversion beautifully done creating a different level of luxury. Mirrored lift surrounds, Art Deco furnishings all offset with mood lighting gives an instant feeling of another time. Large comfortable rooms and excellent service continues the luxury feel. A must is a visit to the tango performance - the ticket includes an excellent dinner - which is reportedly the best in town.
"Short 3 day stay either end of our stay in Argentina "
Arrived after a long flight from London around 10am. Reception were very accommodating and stored luggage and showed me to the spa to allow me to freshen up and change as room not ready. Went to the outdoor pool and had some brunch which was excellent and service first class, had blue cheese salad, excellent! Finally got into room around 2pm. Had superior park view room. Odd set up in room with basically a glass room containing toilet and shower with an external curtain providing privacy if needed while using facilities. Bed super comfortable and air conditioning worked well as it was simply sweltering outside! Had spa/ massage which was expensive but relaxing Booked tango show which included dinner within the hotel, it was a 3 hour dinner show. Expensive for what it was and we were placed at the back so annoyingly could not see much of the detail of the show and it seemed to take ages to start and then did go on for a long time and I do love Tango too.😳 Breakfast was excellent served in the front part of the hotel which has brilliant memorabilia. Usual fare for breakfast of fresh fruit and eggs any style. All staff at hotel were really nice and friendly. They don’t have a reception in usual style just three desks to guide you in and around but super friendly and helpful at all times Hotel is in an excellent area for walking to local bars and restaurants but if need to escape via taxi to other parts be patient as road works at entrance to the area so can be a slight delay. Overall a very enjoyable stay though but again not quiet sure it’s 5* star but would return.
"The best pool bar in Buenos Aires"
This awesome hotel is perfect placed in Puerto Madero. Probably the place to be and to be seen in this cool and friendly city. The main corridor, the lounge, and the Mercado restaurant with its terrace, are wonderful. However, if there is something fresh and different from other hotels is the pool. If you go in summer, stay there, don’t move during the day, and go to meet the city after the sunset😜
