"Lovely and regal"
We stayed here as part of a tour group. The lobby was impressive and had a mosaic of Jordan on display. The room was very nice and there were little extras, like slippers in the closet and a tote bag. Our breakfast and dinners were included so it was buffet style. Lots and lots of choices. The challenging part for me was the juices are all bottled/canned and there was not a lot of fresh fruit. Water is sold as a beverage so be prepared for that. Staff did not all speak English but did their best to understand questions and try to help.
"Palatial 5 star hotel"
Stayed here two separate nights as part of a 3 day Highlights of Jordan tour. The room, lobby, swimming pool, and dining room were all palatial. The staff was friendly and helpful. The dining room on the Mezzanine floor was notable for its beautiful presentation of the delicious buffet dishes. The swimming pool, on the 19th floor, has a spectacular view of the city.
"Do not recommend it"
Old and smelly rooms . Spent a week there and every time they changed the sheets they had spots on them. Carpet and curtains were dirty too. Window did not close and nearby highway was noisy even by night . Tried different rooms and none of them was good. Would definitely not recommend this place although the staff was nice.
"2 star at best"
We came for a wedding - first visit to Jordan and we had high expectation of this advertised 5 star hotel. I can't even be bothered to write what I really think but will say it is filthy, the service is shocking and the breakfast is poor. We went to Trader Vic's (a restaurant within the hotel) for a meal and were charged 10 dinar per person for the pleasure of entering the place. My advice is look elsewhere.
"Big but dated rooms"
Location This hotel is overlooking the downtown area near the other city hotels and located in one gated compound with Grand Palace. We traveled for quite some time to reach Petra though. Rooms The triple room we occupied was big but the bathroom was not proportionally large. The carpets were not that clean and are in desperate need of replacement. Dining Area The buffet area where we had breakfast and dinner was not exactly spic and span. I guess the food was typical of the country but I guess they should also offer some international cuisine.
