The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very accommodating to the guest. The location of the hotel is central to a lot of site and was perfect for my work location. I was only a couple of blocks from ground zero (World Trade Center).
"Nice Boutique Hotel in Financial District"
Hotel is nice, and room sizes are decent for New York. If you need to stay in Financial District, this is a good option. However, I traveled twice to midtown and the cab ride was LONG. Subway would be better option for travel from this location.
"Clean Room, Friendly and Helpful! Staff"
I couldn't have been more pleased when I arrived at this hotel. They was a perfect spot for unloading our car. Inside revealed a warm, inviting darkly paneled lobby area with a very intimate feel. The desk staff was warm, kind and helpful. They registered us quickly, no hassles and helped us upstairs with our bags. Our room was plenty large for our needs as tourists. The bed and pillows were soft and cozy! I have recommended this hotel to two friends whom have booked a room. I am also planning on booking a room this week!
"Small but comfortable"
This was a very nice hotel. Small, but typical for Financial District hotels. Very well furnished for the small size. There is a closet close to the door that holds a good enough amount of clothing/ironing board/iron. Small mini bar with drinks and snacks. Desk/table/chair for writing/business. Bed was very comfortable for 2 people. Ceiling are very high. Bathroom doesn't have vent (oh well) and uses frosted glass partition from the room but there is a curtain to pull for privacy so it worked for us. LOVED the soaps/lotions. Had a nice manly "campfire" smell (and I am female!). I prefer to stay in these boutique hotels for personalized service but really didn't need to bother the front desk for anything. There is even a shaving kit in the bathroom (I think it's $15)! The front desk/lobby area is nice, with a rustic feel. Elevators feel old and rickety, just like when I worked in the area in 1993. :) There were some retro-looking bicycles near the front doors - not sure if they were for decoration, for rent, or a guest's. There is a nice little bar in the lobby area that didn't seem too loud when we returned around midnight. I DID hear people in the hallway outside the room, but they seemed to be fairly considerate. Nothing crazy. Like all hotels, I arrive with ear plugs and an eye mask so not sure if the noise level is above normal or not. Overall, I'd definitely stay again. I parked around the corner on Liberty St for a decent fee.
"Thompson hotels rock."
I've never had a bad experience, it's always top notch. Extra love for text communications including delivering a toothbrush to the room! Great staff, great location, comfortable room and excellent design & aesthetics throughout. Thank you!
