We got a Concierge level room, but the club was closed on weekends. The valet area is very crowded and small. There is no turn down service or if there was they did nothing. It os convenient for the Philips Center but that may not be enough in the long run. The beds were okay, the A/C okay, the view nice. For the price, it was a very nice stay.
"HOTEL STAFF NASTY"
I cancelled this hotel through hotels.com well before the cancellation period policy of this hotel. They charged my card anyway and hotels.com would not remedy. I called the hotel and explained what happened and they were very nasty and said it was policy, period. I stay in Orlando all the time and there are plenty of nicer hotels with friendlier staff. I guess they would rather lose a customer then refund me 1 night that I cancelled through hotels.com. Unfortunately, I'm left holding the bag - in this case, the bill. I have close my hotels.com account and will NEVER stay at this hotel again.
"Downtown Orlando Event"
We stayed here to be close to Amway arena for the JayZ concert. Hotel is fairly near restaurants, shows and game events. I’ve heard how busy this hotel gets and is quite loud in areas of the hotel, and this we do agree with. Our impression of the hotel is that, it’s a boutique type of place, meaning one restaurant, limited food items available at specific time frames, mainly adults, one lounge right in the heart of where you check in, by the lobby kind of loud that I had trouble hearing the check in clerk. We booked a luxury suite, I don’t get what they mean by soundproof rooms, even though we were up on a high floor, we still heard street traffic and commotion out by the streets. We have nothing negative to say about the hotel, the bed was extra comfortable, the room was spacious, the staff we came across was friendly. The internet connection the first night wasn’t the best, but got better the following day. The food we had wasn’t bad. There’s a Starbucks right in the hotel for those coffee drinkers. The mini bar is sensored, which wasn’t told to me as I checked in, but luckily I read that in other reviews so i was expecting it. I do think they should let their guests know about that, so there’s no surprises and also letting guests know about inserting their room key in the elevator to be able to get to their floor would’ve been nice to know.
"Did not meet my expectations"
Overall the room was clean and décor very nice. Front desk staff although well versed on scripting for "how can we help you" fell short as did the cleanliness of the workout facility. There was only one tv monitor that worked although each machine was hooked up to one and the equipment was filthy! There is nothing worse than sticky, grimy exercise equipment. When I returned to my room, I called to the front desk to ask how much the charge was to order room service - she had no idea but assured me it was nominal. I did not want to add cost to my trip so I walked to the hotel restaurant and tried to order a salad to go. She informed me she could not do that but I could try ordering something at the bar (which was packed). I decided to take my chances and order room service. When I ordered my $9.00 salad and $13.00 glass of wine she also could not tell me how much extra it would be. "Maybe $5.00 was what she said. When the young gal brought my salad the bill was $35.00! Really... with a $5.00 tip it cost me $40.00 for a salad and a glass of wine which I can tell you was not very full. Very disappointed!! Left a bad taste in my mouth.
"Anniversary Week Kick Off"
We were starting our anniversary week of fun and could not have had a better start. From the time I drove up to valet until the day we left it was like we were the only guest there. We were pampered totally. The room was above and beyond what we expected as was the Anniversary Gift in the room. We had a few cocktails in the lounge and Ivey was unbelievable with both the drinks and the recommendations for appetizers.Phillip, our concierge was also up to every task we asked. This was the lap of luxury and we were spoiled.
