"Convenient location average service "
I've stayed at the Grand Kempinski a number of times over many years. The hotel standard over time has fallen since it was a Melia Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located in Pudong to office facilities. Service at the hotel is average (perhaps if you only speak English). The hotel room is large but smells a bit smokey and the decor is looking dated. I also ate at the lounge but they forgot our food order till we reminded them. They did offer an additional drink to make up for this. The breakfast spread is large but quality is average. The hotel rate however is not bad for a short stay and much cheaper than other higher end brand hotels in Pudong. My overall rating reflects the value for money rather than the quality of the facilities.
"Very nice place"
The hotel is very well organized. The people working there are very polite and nice and speak fluently English. The location is very good. The room clean and comfortable. The claim is bellboys didn’t bring baggage to my room, I had to do it by myself and taste of burgers we ordered via room service were not good. But I still would recommend to stay here
"Perfect Location for Shanghai Stay"
LOCATION: On Lujiazui Road, it is the "Financial" side of downtown Shanghai across the river. The hotel is two to three blocks from the Oriental Pearl Towers and a large mall, 1 block from the Aquarium and have many restaurant. If you are looking for a hop on hop off bus tour, both bus companies stops a block or so away so it's quite convenient. ROOM: I stayed at one of their standard king bed rooms on the 26th floor. The hotel is upscale and VERY nice. You'll be shocked with what I paid for a 4.5 star hotel. They had free bottled water every night
"Great location "
Stayed here for the first time and found it great for all my business needs. Whilst comfortable and relaxing, it still maintains an air of formality which reflects in the standards that are maintained. Always request a view of the river and plan breakfast timings carefully as it does get very busy.
"High class hotel in Pudong"
Before travel start I fight for early checkinn it was offered by online booking that after several emails accepted, concierge attentive to manage us train tickets pickup, airport transfer too expensive better options in airport available, by arriving frontdesk promise to give me earlier checkinn ontime and after several talks supervisor offer me drink voucher for waiting, a1000 euro deposit is also a bit unusual as they keep my credit card data but maybe house policy. room top kempinski standard, housekipping good chinese level, staff in reception and bar need more improvement in attention and a smile sometimes and push to pay not later than 10 min , the danish cakes are tasty and good price for pudong high price level of everything else in Kempinski bar. Special thanks to Mr. Hellwig for high carness and special deal for our last minute meetingroom and his guiding for quick sightseeing. On departure day mornings time guest help line busy over 30min i carry all lougages by myself and nobody from concierge desk helped by lougage loading my driver from airport driver service helped well.
