"Let's see if things improve...."
After our amazing 4 star in Lyon I was surprised at how much less wonderful this four star is. It's obvious the rooms have been redone but the halls are old and misty. Great location which is why I picked it for our group bit the great stops there. Has a seedy feel. Our floor tiles are loose in places, there is a hole in the wall behind our door and the curtains have come loose from the brackets. High ceilings which is nice but the TINY tv looks LOST on the huge wall facing the beds. Carpet near beds is dirty. Windows do keep sound of old port out which is good. Shower is large but not spotless. Great views on street. This is our first night so we'll see how breakfast is and how mgmt responds to above issues.
After reading a few reviews I was a bit apprehensive as to what we would get when we arrived at the hotel, we were very presently surprised The room was really good with a huge bathroom and a great outlook over the port Yes it does need a bit of a tidy up here and there but I didn't effect our stay Breakfast was really nice and loads to choose from As said the location is fantastic and close to lots of bars and restaurants as well as the metro and ferry stops and not a long way from other attractions which we walked to in around 20 minutes Just one slight issue and I'm sure the hotel will sort it and that was the air conditioning which was not cool enough
"good place to be"
i was worried how clean it is before booking this hotel, in fact the room was quite clean, decent breakfast is at restaurant/cafe next door, enough for morning based on the price, and super good location, i think it's a good choice for a short stay you got MaD downstairs there are ice cram shop, restaurants all around, very convenient
"An Ideal Location in the City"
We stayed here for 5 nights while we visited Marseille and took part in Run Marseille. It is right on the waterfront of the Old Port, a beautiful location, surrounded by a range of great places to eat, a mixture of quirky bars and pubs, cheap food places as well as easy access to early morning coffee and pastries. The Old Port is a nice place to walk from early in the morning to late at night. The hotel is a nice hotel, staff are friendly, the place is secure, and the cleaning staff are very efficient. We've dropped two stars because the bathroom fixtures were in need of repair, and the beds were uncomfortable, a little too hard but the pillows were like air inflatables! Neither of us got a great night's sleep despite the staff kindly giving us a quiet room. If you like your beds firm stay here because those were our only issues and the location is perfect.
Great location, enormous bedroom and bathroom, quiet despite proximity to traffic below. Average breakfast given the 'stars'. Ideally located for boat trips to the islands. Would certainly stay again.
