"Great location, hotel photographer needs a medal though!"
My initial impression when my taxi pulled up was 'is this really my hotel'' and the check in girl seemed to have no sense of humour when I said 'I think I have a room here but I might be in the wrong hotel' as her response was a stern 'surname' without so much as a smile. It turns out it was my room - the photographer does a great job because it's a lot more compact than the pictures make it out to be. The room itself was....tiny. One of those awful trends in hotels where everything is designed to be 'space saving' yet in this room it just looked cluttered. I'm not really sure what the room cleaning policy is either as I seemed to have my water refreshed but not my sheets changed/room service tray removed. It was puzzling. It was also frustrating that I had two single beds rather than a double but thats more a gripe than a complaint as this is listed on the website. Anyway, the bed itself was very comfortable despite the sheets not actually covering it and the pillows being little more than sheets themselves. The breakfast was where things picked up however. I have never had such great tasting scrambled eggs, the bacon was great and the fruit selection also really good. I was surprised the hotel bar didn't open until 18:00 but that may be a normal thing, I've never been to Germany before. The barman, I think he's the head barman, is Slovakian and a real top guy when it comes to customer service. He's an asset to the company. On one night the hotel manager also came to the bar and was warm and friendly so I'm thinking the reception girl I initially saw was the exception to the rule regarding customer service. Nevertheless that was my first impression. Location is great, you're just a 33 minute walk from the Brandenburg Gate and all that surrounds it but sadly I had to find this through google as curiously there was no local information in the rooms. I found this quite strange. I'd definately come back to Berlin, I was only here for a few days, and I wouldn't rule out returning to this hotel but I'd certainly shop around a bit more for price comparison before I did so.
"Check point Charlie"
I have just came back from a great few days at a conference in Berlin. What an amazing city to visit, staff at the H4 hotel Alexanderplatz are brilliant. Very helpful nothing was a problem for them rooms and facilities are great ( except wifi really poor) if you are not near reception! Food was lovely!! The hotel is situated in a great place if you like to see the sights 10 minute walk to history museum, opera house, universities etc plus there is loads more to do. A must see is Checkpoint Charlie!! Probably one of the most famous checkpoints in the World!! Great panoramic views of Old West/East Berlin €10 entry and just along from it the last remaining part of the Berlin Wall about (200m) Reading the personal messages on both sides was Sad however it was also very peaceful ( get there early morning) before the coach loads show up, and you can visit the holocaust memorial also. Wonderful city and the locals are lovely!! I look forward to visiting again with my partner for a holiday.
Great weekend with friends at this amazons hotel with great service. You can park your car for 20 EUR per night and the location is great. Our view from the suit was nice. Would highly recommend the hotel for both families and friends traveling and want to have something more luxurious.
"Convenient location; comfortable; good breakfast"
The hotel has been completely redone and rebranded. It is walking distance from the Alexanderplatz train station. Nothing really to complain about. The breakfast was fantastic. Lots of choice, hot and cold. Good shopping nearby, as well. All of the tours buses (hop on hop off) leave from the Radisson which is right around the corner, so that was convenient, as well. Very nice. Highly recommended. Good value.
"Great location good business hotel with small clean rooms"
The H4, not to be confused with the H2 beside it that is a more economic and simple choice, is a good business hotel Rooms are small but new and clean. everything works fine. Check in and out was not lighting fast but the very nice staff compensated the lack of experience with friendliness Location is great, middle in Berlin, lots of restaurants near by and fantastic for jogging in the city while sightseeing Breakfast was very good, a little bit crowded Internet ist fast and free Nothing special but perfect if you are just looking for a good night during a business trip
