This hotel is top notch. They have all the amenities you could want within the hotel and are in an awesome location. There are sights, restaurants, drug store, wine bars, pubs, coffee places, just amazing that you can walk to so many places close to your hotel. The staff are very accommodating and will assist you in any way they can. The food is also a big plus and they service some kind of food 24 hrs a day. Rooms are nice size and not cramped too. They also have every channels in English, which I not lays the case in many hotels.
Parking, Check-in all went fine. Room was large, clean and bathroom was also okay. I had a room away from the street and it was nice quiet, but too warm even with full A/C. Breakfast is too expensive compared to what you can get !
"Not up to the usual Marriott standard (and I've stayed in many of them)"
Stayed for one night in an Executive Room which gave you access to the Executive Lounge. The location was good but it wasn't cheap and if this hotel was in the UK I would rate it as a three star at most. The bed was comfortable and the sheets fresh and clean. The room however was very dated, from the furniture to the artex on the ceiling and I really wouldn't want to spend more than one night in it. The bathroom was okay, but I've never been a fan of over the bath showers. The Executive Lounge actually made us laugh out loud! It reminded me of a railway station waiting room! Needless to say we opted not to use it. The Reception staff were excellent and very helpful. One member of the the Bar staff was friendly and welcoming the other not so much!! Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Wouldn't stay here again at the price we paid €248 B&B with use of the Executive Lounge!
"Hotel in a nice location, but with rooms requiring refurbishment"
I have been staying in many Marriott Hotels around the world, and so also decided to try the one in Hamburg given ist great Location in the middle of town. Unfortunately, while the building and location are nice, the rooms were not really of Marriott standard. In fact, the rooms had Long not been renovated, looked a bit outworn and were smelly. Also as regards service I have seen much better Marriott offers. When we arrived at 1 pm the Hotel was not able to make a room available for us. Admittedly, the official check-in time was 4 pm, but this is very late for international Standards. Also, as a gold member I had access area, and also this one was not particularly impressive. Bottom line, we enjoyed the city, but the Marriott was not the kind of hotel we would like to come back to Hamburg.
This is a great centrally located Hotel Check in was fantastic and the lady Sabrine' was vey helpful in booking taxi's and restaurant suggestions Executive lounge was good with a good spread of food and drinks Dinner in the restaurant was a bit soulless but better in the bar with accompanying piano player I would return
