Comfortable room with reasonable, modern amenities. Regular bus service to Hong Kong Station for in-town checkin is also handy. Only down side is there is not much around the hotel of note so a bus or cab is required.
"Nice to stay this hotel"
Nice hotel for stay . Breakfast was good and Indian menu also served in the breakfast area. Staff also nice and friendly . Only free internet available at lobby area only 30 minutes per day . Rest service was good .
"Great hotel horrible wifi"
I gave this place 3 stars for their hospitality, nice rooms and excellent breakfast buffet. BUT, the wifi connection is abhorrent, I do not get a full signal in my room which makes connections slow, and during peak times absolutely nothing loads--a lost and frustrating cause. For a hotel with such great quality, this major oversight comes as a disappointment and surprise.
"Short Stay in Hong kong"
This hotel is on Hong Kong Island and although a little far away from the airport and shopping hub not impossible to get to either as the train station and bus are right outside. We got a cab from the airport due to a delayed flight in to Hong Kong and it cost $350HKD. The train to the Ladies Market and Temple Street night markets was a breeze to get to and an insight to commuting in Hong Kong. There is a supermarket across the road for food supplies and a Mc Donalds for those that cannot cope with asian food (like our daughter who was travelling with us!). The room had a fantastic view of the mainland and although a little tight for 3 was clean and comfortable. Free bottled water was supplied and as the breakfast was around $29 Aussie dollars per day per person we opted to go out & find an alternative as we thought this was just too much to pay. They did give us upon checkin a complementary high tea for 2 people which we split between the 3 of us and we had plenty to sample. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would recommend it for those that are happy to be a little away from the hustle and bustle. We got the A12 Airport bus from opposite the hotel for $58HKD per person and gave us a good glimpse of Hong Kong as we made our way to the airport. It took about 50 minutes as it was 5:45 in the morning so not much traffic and was easy to use and cheaper than a taxi.
When we arrived, I commented on the lovely smell in the ground level lobby. I later discovered this was just to mask the dreadful smell from the drains - some of the newer parts of HK are built on reclaimed land. Offhand receptionist (yes I know her English is better than my Chinese but I don't have to welcome international visitors after they've had an 18 hour flight!) allocated a "Standard" room which was fine - clean enough, good hot showers etc but decor a little tired. When we enquired the next day we discovered that we should have had a "Superior" room, so we moved across the corridor. Nice view of the harbour but basically the same room - again a little tired but I suppose it depends largely on your definition of "Superior". In addition to the view, we were treated to a dreadful smell which permeated up 12 floors & seemed to come out of the drain in the bathroom. I called in the Room maid & she gave the bathroom a spray but when I enquired at Reception the Receptionist advised me that we had the last "Superior" room in the hotel.....I told him we didn't want to move again but could something be done about the awful smell.....five days on & still nothing's been done.......do you ever get the feeling that your business is not that important to the establishment' Having said all that - the Room maids, concierge staff etc are lovely but somethings just get lost in translation. Also..... charging for an unsecured & patchy Internet service seems a bit Medieval....as I am forced to sit on the bathroom floor to write this as it's the only place in the room which gets a full signal!
