"Repeat business visit"
Nice hotel, views over the harbour, easy access across HK Island along the MTR (underground) - use exit C. Breakfast can get busy, get there early & enjoy the morning. Not advertised, but breakfast sometimes served on 3rd floor also Swimming pool on level 3. Bar can get very busy also.
"Poor service paricually in restrauant"
This hotel is tired and more attuned to the short stay business man as opposed to the stopover tourist such as my wife and I. Our room was alleddgedly upgraed but if it was god knows how poor our oriogional room would have been, although to be fair, there were several rooms on our floor unoccpied which were recieving some TLC so perhaps just missed out. Biggest bug bears. the key card, which I needed to replace every day, and the coupons for High Tea, breakfast, you would have thought we had stoled the restraurants receptionists children the way she carried on when we failed to produce a coupon proving we were entitled to our high tea, reception had forgotten to issue them and it being four star I was unaware of the requirement to produce a coupon. She even refused to let my wife purchase a cup of tea whilst I went to reception to request our coupon. Minor issue, for the touristy stuff, the location of this hotel is too far away although they do provide a free shuttle service which gets you about half way to most tourist hotspots and more importantly is handy for the airport transfer train if you are travelling light. Apart from the above the hotel is much like most other business hotels just extremely tired.
"Comfortable Hotel in a great location, friendly staff, restaurant, gym and swimming pool."
The Hotel is only metres from Quarry Bay MTR on King’s Road. Regular transfers to Central Railway Station for City Check In and fast train to the Airport. Easy stroll to markets, supermarkets, takeaway food and any number of restaurants. Easy access to the classic trams . Easy connections to ferries and buses. We have stayed at Harbour Plaza regularly since 2002. Restaurant features live music in the evenings.
This hotel has become our go to place to stay when visiting Hong Kong. We stayed on two separate occasions this visit. The first room we stayed in had been recently renovated. The colour scheme is very pleasant, unfortunately some fresh paint/varnish smell still lingered. We stayed in a not yet renovated room the second visit. One draw back this time, this room has no chest of drawers. Staff remains very helpful and no problem about location though it's away from Central and Causeway Bay.
"Not quite quite..."
Booked a two bedroom suite thru Qantas Holidays. On arrival at 07:00 after flying all night we were taken to our suite, in which we were immediately overwhelmed by a smell like cigarette smoke, which it couldn't be as it was a non-smoking floor. But being so tired we decided to stay put - bad choice. Next afternoon we noticed the ceiling paint blistering adjacent to the cornice on three sides of the living room. Touching it made me realise it was damp, and the source of the smell. Further examination revealed 'dodgy' repair work in several areas of the walls and ceiling. An email to the Hotel prompted an almost immediate response - Mr Gary Wong, the Senior Guest Services Manager rang and offered an alternative suite, which we gratefully accepted. He went further tho - huge bowl of fruit delivered to our rooms, bottle of quite expensive Spanish wine, and three breakfast vouchers worth $175HKD each. His attitude was very professional. BUT, this should not have occurred in the first place. One expects a dry room without smell when one is paying quite a lot. The only other comment is that the hotel is some six train stations from Central - not a great tourist location, alto there is a mini market across the road.
