Is a fine hotel and offers you a lot of value against a competitive price. Rooms are well equipped not to big, but big for HK. The pool and the gym are fantastic. You don't have wifi in the rooms that is a minus. You do have free wifi in the park next to the hotel.Comment of D. Marco , Netherlands the 2016-01-19
"Very far from Central and very poor wifi, but good value and a fascinating area"
I stayed here for ~1 month and while I wouldn't come back because of the commute (budget minimum 1 hour just to get to Central), I think it's a perfectly good option for a lot of people. The hotel mostly caters to massive tour groups from mainland China - they turn the lobby into something like a train station with constant shouting and groups huddling together. Somehow the hotel staff, which is ample, deals with it all no problem. However, there is very little English spoken here, and any problems end up being treated with people throwing their hands up and running away to fetch someone more senior who still rarely has the capacity to deal with any issue. But the rooms are great (if a bit shabby), very spacious, and with great views over either the park or the Tin Shui Wai/Yuen Long area - which, by the way, is fascinating to discover, particularly Kingswood Richly mall, just 10 minutes walk away. Be warned that the WiFi in the rooms is terrible, particularly in the evenings. It's not fast enough to even audio Skype or to surf basic websites on the internet at peak times. Because of the internet and location, I will go elsewhere in HK in the future, but can definitely recommend the hotel for good value, great size rooms, and interesting location in HK.
"Terrible receptionist staff"
I arrived at the hotel and met with the rudest receptionist. Her name badge was yomi and she had a poor attitude and tone of voice when speaking to me. She refused to let me checkin stating the identification of my HK ID did not match my booking name. I have stayed at this hotel regularly and not had a problem using Chris instead of Christopher. She was in fact making it difficult and very rude and refused to help at all. I informed her I stay regularly using this ID and you staff have never refused entry for me. I could not cancel this booking either as this was fully paid and with no cancellation available. This has ruined my trip to this hotel and it's only the beginning of 2018!!!! what a disastrous training provided to this member of staff.
"Better than average"
The hotel has some nice features, fast wifi, decent restaurants nearby, park, fast food chains, Dim Sum from 7:00am, tram stop, friendly staff. Bathtub, cable tv with some English Channels, big enough room, nice views from the room. Unfortunately the air conditioning is not good enough. I specially asked for cold aircon. What I got was a room that struggled to remain cold enough.
"Really nice hotel"
Ordinarily, I stay in the city when I go to Hong Kong, but I booked this in the hope of finding nicer accommodation and I have to say I was very pleased. The hotel is split between two large buildings. One of these buildings has the restaurant where you're served breakfast and for that reason might be seen as being the better place to stay, but really the other tower is also pretty good and it's just 30 seconds from the main building. The area itself isn't bad. We walked up to the Wetlands park, which was quite nice, and there's a shopping centre right behind the hotel. Like seemingly everywhere in Hong Kong, there's a lot of construction nearby, but there was no noise whatsoever in the rooms. The main thing I was struck by was how big and nice the room was. People expect small rooms in Hong Kong, but the room was very big with a kingsize bed, a small kitchen (though no pots/pans or cutlery so I'm not sure how people use this) and a sofa/dining table. Having stayed in a room like this I don't think I can ever go back to the tiny boxes you get in most Hong Kong hotels in the city. Overall, a great place to stay for a fairly reasonable price and I'll certainly be back.
"Not as good as it always is"
My family visit Hong Kong every two years and we've always stayed at this hotel. However, this year, we only stayed for a week. Upon booking, we had requested a non-smoking floor but we were given a smoking one. The sofa bed in the room was also faulty. There was a letter on the table telling us that we would have to pay if we wanted to use the wifi (all the other times we have been, it was free). Towards the end of our week in Hong Kong, the person at the desk told us that it was free. They could have made that a lot clearer.
