"Don't want to answer the phone"
They don't answer the phone - i tried 3 times to reach a front desk person to help with my reservation. In total i listened to the phone ring for 10 minutes. Then the operator comes back and says they will have someone call me back. Perhaps just answer the phone when people call! can't wait to see how long it takes for a return phone call. Oh and i have a reservation here for 5 nights - might just be cancelling that.
"Craziest hotel experience yet!"
There were no linens available, so essentially none of the rooms were ready. Some people were there from 1 pm until midnight waiting for a room, which didn't materialize. Eventually, the staff gave out vouchers to dozens of patrons to use a nearby hotel. Look, s*$t happens. The problem was that none of the managers got out ahead of this. There was no information flow, no way to know if you were ever going to get a room on this evening (Sunday, May 21, 2017). People were angry and frustrated. They get a "1-star" for that. The next day the rooms were ready. They compensated travelers with a free night (plus the comped night at the neighboring hotel) or HH points. And a nice little fruit plate in the room with a heartfelt letter of apology. Again, the problem WAS NOT that that the laundry facility went down and there was no quick fix. The problem was the lack of information flow. 1 manager should have become the face of the problem. He or she should have come out every 30 minutes with an update, and a fistful of drink tickets. There was a way to minimize the damage in real time, but that opportunity was missed.
"Pretty good value for money"
This isn't the best hotel in the area, but it is the best value for money. The rooms are clean and spacious, beds comfortable. It is not the most beautiful hotel in the world, but it is functional. Breakfasts are pretty standard, but the staff are very attentive and seem happy to be there. There is a lot of free space in the hotel, so given all the space, why is the bar area so small. There is no space to lounge or sit comfortably. Not every one wants to sit at the bar or stand around a couple of long tall tables. The bar area is quite intimidating and not a relaxed area. Other than that quite a good hotel. Watch for the bell hops that take your bag off you from the taxi, then walk with you 30 yards to reception the tell you they have change!! Not good.
"I would rate as Average"
Despite its updated rooms and public areas it lacks behind several of the closer hotels. The bathrooms are smallish, poorly lit and has a small tub. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are nice. It has a convenient location. The AC is quite noisy and maintains an inconsistent temp.
"Great gym, modern room, mediocre staff"
I stayed here for a work trip to Coca-Cola which is right across the street which was very convenient. The room itself was modern, updated bathroom and bedroom bed and furniture, with a great view of downtown. The gym was enormous, with rows and rows of cardio, weight machines, and free weights that put my own work gym to shame. The staff although friendly, didn't seem to have a sense of urgency from check-in or the concierge. I know that I'm probably that guy from the NE that's always GO GO GO, but when so many people are in line you need to speed things up and stop the chit chat, but they seemed oblivious to people that need to get things done in a hurry.
