I recently did a staycation with my family. The service was excellent from making my reservation with Crystal Cox, to our check in experience with Paulette; who also called soon after we settled into our room to find out if everything was to our satisfaction and if she could make our stay anymore comfortable. We made a request of Paulette and within 10 minutes she made it happened. Nicholas, the towel attendant, was very accommodating even though we requested our pool towels after the scheduled time. Rochelle from the Lighthouse Restaurant was also very helpful and went out of her way to make sure my daughter had want she wanted for breakfast. The breakfast and the beach barbecue were very good. The facilities and pools are clean and nice. I also enjoyed the jacuzzi which is appropriately situated just off the pool area in a semi private setting. Our room was comfortable for the 4 of us and Mavis ensured that it was kept clean and we had fresh towels. You should also visit the Eforea Spa. It has a very relaxing ambience, the facilities are of a high standard with a steam room, relaxation room (with complimentary infused water, cookies and fruits) and treatments are amazing. Give the Hilton Resort Barbados a try. You won't regret it!!!
"Pretty Good Hotel in Barbados for Business/Pleasure"
The Hilton Barbados is a pretty good option if you are looking for a comfortable, well located, fun and beach front property in Barbados. The rooms seems to be renovated, they have good wifi in the entire property and staff is generally very friendly and kind. The pools and beach are very inviting to relax and enjoy your stay. Food is just ok, but anyway you have really good options a few blocks away!
Service at this hotel was excellent and the bay view from my room was breath-taking. This is an excellent get-away. The hotel is a short walk ( 3-5 mins) from the main road and a beautiful public beach but on-site pool, restaurant and beach-front will cater to those who don't want to leave the compound. There was also a state-of-the-art gym and reasonably priced spa facilities.
"Hilton Hotel Barbados"
On the first day our check-in was not smooth. The front desk is terrible. They always seem annoyed when you have a question. Although 80% of our group were sold passes for the lounge we were not allowed to purchase one even though we both had Hilton cards! 23 of us arrived together....all had the same price for our rooms but we all could not purchase lounge access! We were told we needed a reservation for the breakfast buffet....wrong info. The woman working on the Concierge desk was terrific, as was the lovely lady in the Cafe. She was fabulous. The women working at the Tour Centre at the hotel were horrendous. I ended up using Williams Tours and they were exceptional. Housekeeping - took two days to get an iron. 4 Hangers in a room does not cut it for 7 days and 2 women!! The ladies did a great job cleaning the room, but it was often done quite late. What hotel does not leave an extra roll of toilet paper in a room!!!!!! Seriously! Until it runs out you dont get a new one! Rooms were lovely and comfortable. Food was very expensive for the quality. Staff at the pool restaurant were wonderful. Pool and beach were great. Front door staff always smiling, helpful and seemed happy to see us. This is a small thing but if you have an awards program and both people staying in the room have a card there should be a way to split the awards ex. if you are there for 10 days, each is rewarded for 5 days.
"Amazing views and staff but no perks for Diamond members"
This would be a 5 star review if it weren't for the front desk staff. I recently made Diamond status so I was excited to see if there would be any perks. None so far :-( upon check in, no upgrades were offered. I've received unsolicited upgrades on almost every other stay at a Hilton, but sadly not this time. I inquired and the front desk staff said they were sold out of the next room category. On the first day, I had to inquire 3 times for additional towels. Since housekeeping didn't bring us towels afternoon my first request, I asked the front desk about it. The lady said "this is the front desk not housekeeping" but did finally contact housekeeping for us. On another day, we tried to go swimming at 7pm and the pool towel hut was closed. I went to the front desk and she seemed annoyed that I was bothering her with my question. I asked for towels and she said they don't keep towels and we should get our own towels from our guest room. I'm no hospitality expert but I would assume that 1. A front desk employee would be customer service oriented 2. Be capable of problem solving 3. Interested in ensuring that you have repeat customers. The front desk staff needs to be retrained. On the other hand, all of the other staff, except for the front desk, have been amazing. Every employee greets us and asks if we are having fun or finding everything we need! The gals in the restaurants remember us and one even told me that she would be off tomorrow but hopes she would see us the following day! Great job. Ive found the food to be delicious and fresh. My only complaint I see with the front desk- and as you can tell, I like fresh towels! Hoping that the second half of our stay is a bit better but the view from the room is lovely and makes up for some of the quirks here.
