"Great weekend stay"
Had a lovely Saturday night stay here. Room very clean and comfortable, and great breakfast in the morning. Very good location for town however this does mean parking is expensive. We used the NCP down the road (100 meters) but apparently the Valet parking would have about the same price - £25.
"Comfortable stay "
The Hilton Cardiff is well located in the centre of town . The hotel is within walking distance of key attractions . Hotel has great decent sized rooms, comfortable beds and friendly and welcoming staff . Will definitely stay again .
"ok for that price, good location, parking somewhat expensive"
First of all, the welcome was fantastic. The doorman welcomed us, said we could leave the car in front of the hotel, check in and bring the luggage to the room and once we're ready bring the car to the car park. All very easy and relaxed. The room was a room designed for disabled at the end of a corridor, relatively dark, but large, view to a parking. Unfortunately you can't open the windows. If you're used to sleep with windows open you might not sleep so well, but that's my individual opinion. Location is great, everything you need is in walking distance. Parking was somewhat expensive, but at least safe. Would go there again because of the friendly employees and the location :-)
Executive Room with a view was spacious but inadequately furnished. We enjoyed the executive lounge facilities, especially the "free" above average breakfast buffet and cocktail hours. Incidentally, the breakfast smoked salmon is really excellent. However, and there are huge minuses: 1) valet parking check-in is a mess, and completely over-charged for the level of service provided; 2) the reception areas were designed by a moron and replicate a railway station and reception is weird; 3) Cardiff city centre has become the realm of drunken groups around its clubs at night and it has taxi ranks outside this hotel catering to get these people home until 3 pm in the morning - noise! 4) and finally rooms are over-priced. If you are desperate for a room near the castle or uni fine, but there are much better options.
"Great hotel, but let down by charge for Wi-Fi"
The rooms in this hotel were excellent and it has a lovely central location. Disappointed to find that to access the Wi-Fi from the room there was, in effect, the charge whereas in the public areas of the hotel Wi-Fi was free. Given that this is a hotel charging premium rates and caters for the business sector this seemed very retrograde step and was disappointing, though this did not ruin a very comfortable stay.
