"Hey Hilton Post Oak - Raise your standards and manage your staff"
I typically enjoy staying at a Hilton, and will continue to do so, but will not visit this Hilton again. Recently there for a wedding, I had a very mixed experience, which weighs more on the cons side than the pros side. PRO: there's a shuttle that will take you within a 3-mile radius of the hotel (most if not all of the hotels in the area provide this service CON: you might die before making it to your destination. Our driver Muhammad ran a red light ... not a yellow light ... a RED light. Why' Because he was ON THE PHONE. The cars that were already in the intersection when he entered had to slam on their breaks to prevent an accident. His supervisor's response, a dismissive, "I'll talk to him." Granted, Toya, the hotel manager responded with more concern, but the experience left me wondering what, if anything would protect future guests. PRO: Happy hour in the hotel CON: Only beer and house wine, though advertised to include well drinks PRO: The room was clean and the bed super comfortable CON: Donna, the hotel operator, was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered in my life. One of my travel buddies could not take the elevator, so she needed to take the stairs. We were told we had to call the security office each time we wanted to use the stairs so that the stairwell alarm would not trip when we opened the door. When I called the operator from my room so that I could reach security, I explained to Donna, the operator who answered the phone, why I needed security, she said, "Are you a GUEST'" Obviously I was because she could see I was calling from my room. I told her yes, and she said, "You want to do WHAT'!" When I asked her to transfer me to security, she said, "Fine, but I have him right here in my office." Each time after that when I tried to reach the operator, Donna let the phone ring more than 10 times before she answered it. I, again, called Toya the hotel manager about it. I left her a voicemail that was never returned. I guess you only get one complaint per trip. If all you need to do is lay your head down on a clean, comfortable bed, this is the place. If you want to be treated like a guest who is paying hundreds of dollars to patronize the establishment, then stay at one of the many fine surrounding hotels.
"Small improvements needed"
The service in the bar was slow. The internet connection was very spotty. The room needed another small garbage can. Otherwise the stay was great. Room was nice and beds were comfy. The pool was relaxing and not too crowded.
It was a short trip. I arrived around 3 am after a 90 minute delay on a flight out of Chicago. I was super tired but the person who was at front desk was very kind and welcoming. I had a corner room and it was clean and a great room altogether. I booked this hotel because of wedding. Definitely a great stay with nice staff.
"Stayed here for High School reunion"
Very nice !! The staff were amazing !! This is a busy Hotel but we were never neglected !! The room was nice and very comfortable !! My only complaint is when you have marble floors in the bathroom you need a bath mat that will stick to them !! Other than that it was a wonderful stay most credit given to the front desk and housekeeping !!! I would recommend this hotel !!
"Wonderful Wedding Day"
We were hear for a family wedding and couldn't have been more pleased. The service from check in to check out was excellent. Although we had a smoke free room, on check in we smelled smoke. When we told one of the reception staff they had a cleaner in our room in minutes. As parents of groom the manager was gracious enough to deliver a bottle of wine and cheese plate. What a nice touch. The rooms are very large, and the only slight complaint was getting hot water to our room.
