"Great Location and Roof Bar"
There is something special about being high in London. The roof top bar of Galvins at Hilton is something wonderful and a real edition to the hotel. The rooms are in line with the hilton brand and potentially all need an upgrade but its a great hotel and perfect location within walking distance to all parts of london and adjacent to the beautiful parks which were particularly beautiful in the sun. An expensive but worth while stay.
"nice hotel unless you want to sleep!"
I stayed at this hotel on business, my room was on the 5th floor on the East side of the hotel. I was unable to sleep during the pounding bass of the music coming from the ground floor in the hotel. By 1.30am I had had enough and phoned reception to complain. They advised me that the music would continue until 3am as it was their nightclub! They offered to move me to another room, did they really expect me to do this at 1.30am' They offered to reduce my tariff, frankly a hotel is about rooms for sleeping so a refund would have been appropriate, but when I checked out this hadn't been done. Knowing the noise issue the customer centric approach would be to warn you before taking a booking and at the very least at check in.So my advice, do not stay here if you intend to get any sleep before 3am. Shocking and not a 5 star hotel by a wide margin.
"Excellent Hotel and Staff"
Excellent hotel staff and management team!! I felt pampered at this hotel from the outset with staff very attentive to my needs as a Diamond member. Location is very convenient to central London, restaurants, attractions, etc. The rooms are fabulous with great views of London. I will definitely return!!
"Great location, excellent service"
We stayed for one night as part of my birthday celebration, we choose a room with a view on the 13th floor, great view over London and Hyde Park Corner, very comfortable and a good size for London. Really friendly helpful staff, as it was my birthday they bought me up a fruit bowl, cakes and water and a card. The breakfast was amazing. The only problem we had was the shower leaked. Thanks or a great stay
"Not A High End Experience "
This hotel was very disappointing. We had used glasses in our room that were never replaced unless we left them outside the door. Even with that, they were just removed and no new glasses were added to the room. This Hilton is average and only good for the location. The staff was not friendly. The rooms were expensive, for the price we expected a much better experience with some sort of personal touch from the hotel itself. We went to have a drink on the 28th floor (which has a fabulous view) on the bar side. The Maitre'd was flat and seemed almost annoyed we asked to have a drink. He promptly sat us next to two women who clearly there for work as they meet a group of sleazy men who they all left with shortly after. The women did not seem to be strangers to the bar and the men had a set up to meet them, then were all over these women in a way that made us get up and move. There is zero security to get to the 28th floor so anyone can come in off the street, have access to all levels or go to the bar. We had three older kids with us, after that experience I was much more aware how easy it is for these types of people to walk right in, even with doormen (btw, stayed for five nights and was in and out each day and was only ever greeted with a hello by one). I would hardly call any service we experienced 'An icon of British hospitality' as their site states, much less a five star hotel. We are in London a couple times a year and will never stay here again. There are much better hotels throughout London with immensely better service for the money. We had two rooms at about £800 total per night, I have had better Hilton experiences traveling for business at $125 a night and certainly better service for the upper end in most major cities.
