"No customer service"
Arrived on Saturday with friends for a weekend away to celebrate a birthday. Check-in was fine, but this was the last time we saw any good service. I am a Diamond member at Hilton, but our room was tiny with a small bathroom, although a great view. The room was nothing special, no better than a Holiday Inn, and not worth the £320 paid. Still, we had the opportunity to visit Galvin at Windows for one of the best bars in London, and then the Executive Lounge, so never mind the room. Quite rudely treated at Galvin, never mind. Went to Exec Lounge. Was stopped from going to first floor by security for a private party, nothing to do with Hilton or Exec Lounge, so went to Exec Loune anyway. Once inside, no service, no hot food, it was always gone. Really let down. The minute I got up to get a drink, i see a member of staff taking my chair to give to another customer. Surely they had seen me sitting there' A let down experience. Out for the evening, came back to hotel, up to bed, all the way up to 25th floor, the key doesn't work. Back down to the lobby, told reception. It seems I have inconvenienced the staff with my problem of not being able to get into my room. No apology for my inconvenience. Our bathroom door keeps sliding open, not good for privacy. It seems though that customer service has gone, I paid £320 to be an inconvenience to hotel staff.
"Excellent Hotel. Much better than I expected"
I reserved at the Hilton with some misgivings. I had attended events and visited its restaurants over the years, and the large amounts of people moving in and out of its lobby, made me fear this would be a large let down a-la New York Hilton. However, my last stays at other Hilton properties over the last year made me decide to give it a try, as Hilton has made a palpable effort to provide a better customer experience. I was pleasantly surprised. Check in was fast and attended by smart personnel, quick on their feet. There bags arrived in our room almost simultaneously with us. I found the rooms smaller than I expected, but superbly appointed and with a smart practical design. The views are incredible. Turn down was perfect every night. I can really find no fault with the hotel. The staff are superbly trained and helpful. From the doorman to the maids. I particularly commend the supervisory staff at the breakfast restaurant. One morning the place looked over run with guests following what evidently was a large vent the night prior. Large groups from his party arrived at about the same time and a large queue formed. The restaurant staff handled the situation superbly, kept every one in a good mood and moved the tables quickly. within 15 minutes the queue was gone, despite the restaurant being extremely crowded. I wil pretrun to this hotel.
Anonymous but efficient hotel. Rooms are nice, Wi-Fi very good and surprisingly so so fitness center for such a large hotel (limited and older machines). Very busy area of London and best acceded by the Underground.
"Located opposite Hyde Park"
I arrived early and was prepared to leave my luggage with the concierge when I was pleasantly surprised when the hotel allowed me to check in then. Rooms are clean and location central. Within walking distance to my interesting tourist site
"Hilton Park Lane still a special hotel"
I have stayed in this Hilton before and it was terrific in the past. Pleased to say that hasn't changed. Got room 1818, a Mayfair Suite which had a separate living area and work space. Check in was excellent and service at the breakfast buffet was quick and very good. For business or pleasure this is a first rate hotel in a great location by Hyde Park Corner tube station.
