Had a great experience staying here! Amazing views as well! Rooms were nice and also very clean! Only one hiccup, our friends had dirty towels left in their room (as well as clean ones) but the issue was very quickly sorted! Had executive access which is well worth doing! Would definitely stay here again!
"Nice stay for the night - felt rooms were a little small though"
As the title says, I personally felt the room or to be specific the bed was a little on the smaller size and that for what is a Hilton hotel in a key part of Manchester, could have been a little better. That is not to say the stay was not enjoyable or not good because it was the opposite, it was a very good stay and overall a nice hotel and a great location for the shopping in Manchester. The room was tidy and clean, the bathroom I felt was excellent and really well designed. The rest of the room was for just average. The breakfast in the morning was very good and with it being buffet style, I felt it was really well done and nicely cooked with a great selected. I never tried out any of the facilities, aside from the conference facilities which were the reason for my stay. The event held was nicely done and a really good location. Nothing wrong with the overall stay, just the room I maybe wanted more.
My wife and I stayed here when we visited Manchester House recently for our anniversary. The imposing structure somehow raises expectation which were quickly realigned. Reception staff looked at me like an i idiot when I asked to go to the Cloud Bar "booked, Saturday" was the terse reply. I later noticed however that if you are of the right nationality, you get waved through by the same nationality doorkeepers who stand guard by the lift. The room (£250 for the night) was an unfolding disaster area - it stank of smoke so we had to ask for it to be sprayed with air freshener and as the evening went on more and more problems surfaced - the single (in a double room) armchair was broken. The lock on the bathroom was broken, too. The mirror in the bathroom hung off the wall, of the three electrical sockets, one worked. At check out I raised the issues and was told that I could have been moved but unfortunately, you don't discover all these problems at once and, having showered and when you are getting dressed, moving rooms is out of the question. This hotel's management fail to tick the most basic of boxes about the functioning of rooms. The Executive Lounge redeemed it a little but I am still left with a memory of an overpriced, badly run, badly managed shocker - never again.
Stayed here for two nights. I'm a Hilton Honors Gold customer: 1. Requested early check-in by telephone for all of our 3x rooms. Only got in early to one; 2. My room wasn't tidied once during my stay. Unforgivable; 3 There wasn't a bar of soap in my room; 4. The sky bar is very popular with non-residents so the foyer is constantly packed full of 'clubbers' waiting to gain entry. This starts at around 5:30pm and carries on all night. Check-in girl was great though. A more relaxing stay can be had elsewhere, I would have thought.
The rooms are comfortable - could do with a little more upkeep - there was a damaged lampshade and the power wire had been pulled out off the alarm clock which was not fixed despite being highlighted to the concierge. The bar is an attraction being so high all the rooms have big views across the city and the rooms are quiet. The pool and gym are good and the breakfast area is well staffed and the breakfast food standard buffet style but with big plates you could really go to town.
