"Great Hotel & Location"
Hilton Hotel is a wonderful hotel with all amenities, close to airport and Port of Miami. We stayed at the hotel prior to going on a one week cruise. Hotel offered park and go offer which was very reasonable. Hotel arranged for transportation to and from the Port of Miami.
"Typical airport hotel"
Stayed here for one night. It's a fairly typical airport hotel. Clean and tidy but just feels a bit tired. Staff very helpful. Preferred the Emassey Suite at Miami Airport which we have used in the past. It's ok for one night, which in the main is what airport hotels are for!
"Upcharge for bed selection'''"
The "corporate robot" interaction from the front desk staff made me feel under appreciated at best. Finding out that a King-size bed request could only be accommodated for an additional $10 charge, definitely put me off. Discovering that the free Airport Shuttle does not run before 5:00 am which added a $25 taxi to my "Airport Hotel" visit had me less than pleased. Telling me that my Hilton Honors account number could not be input into their computer system because I had booked with a 3rd party agency thereby voiding the program for any incidental spending at the property, left me wondering if this hotel is a legitimate Hilton. The lobby, grounds and rooms are acceptable. Think of this property as a visit to a governmental agency and you won't be disappointed!
"One night stay before flying to Barcelona."
Positives: great location across the interstate from MIA's international terminal (fun plane spotting from the patio); beautiful grounds; very comfortable beds and bedding; nice-sized room for two people to spread out; great front desk staff; airport shuttle drivers were great; very secure storage for luggage after check-out. Negatives: our room wasn't ready when we arrived well after the 3 p.m. check-in time and it would've been a nice touch to comp us a drink while we waited in the lobby lounge; drinks in the bar were RIDICULOUSLY expensive ($26 for two gin & tonics!!) and they had no mint behind the bar to make mojitos (really' in Miami'''); the only refrigerator in the room was a stocked mini bar - if you wanted a refrigerator to keep leftover food or personal beverages, there is a $20 fee; the restaurant food seemed extremely over-priced ($16 for a cheeseburger'!'!'!). If you get room service, please look over your bill carefully as there are charges and gratuity automatically added-on (we tipped on top of the total before realizing this). We were here before Hurricane Irma hit and I'm glad to read how great the hotel was to all the people seeking shelter here.
We stayed in this hotel that weekend that Irma was expecting in Florida - even if they were busy getting ready for Irma they provide great service . Love the Mojito at the pool side - We will come back
