"Great rooms in a great location"
Rooms faultlessly clean and well stocked. Stayed here for 2 nights in August 2017 prior to returning to the UK after working for a year in Nagoya. An airport luggage transfer misunderstanding meant I had a surprise upgrade to the Deluxe Exec style room. Special thanks to Yumi-san for that. I will be back in November and am looking forward to a slightly longer stay this time.
"Centre location for exploring the city"
We stayed in a deluxe twin room for 3 nights in October. Room: Good size, clean, high floor (21st) with a good view. We had 2 young kids and the room was spacious enough for all of us. The paper screens (used in lieu of curtains) was beautiful. Our kids love them. I was so relieved they didn't make holes in them! Location: Close to shops and restaurants. It's right in the middle between Nagoya JR station to the West (10 min by taxi or 25 min walk), Nagoya castle to the North (30 min walk, or you can take bus/taxi), Sakae the upmarket shopping/business area to the East, and Osu the downtown shopping area to the South. We walked to most places so we can enjoy the area (used a stroller to push my little one). But if you want to save time, taxi would be the easiest way. There is a free shuttle bus to JR station and Nagoya Castle, but we kept missing the departure time. For Legoland and the railway museum, we took taxi to JR station and took the train (Aonami line) from there. The hotel staff would ask us where we wanted to go and then translated our needs to the driver. There are cafes and convenience stores just across the road, which was very handy for stocking up for the kids. The first night we went to a lively seafood restaurant called Isomaru Suisan, 5 minutes down the road. They serve sushi and fresh seafood that you can BBQ on the table. Breakfast: Fantastic. Good variety and immaculately presented. My 6 year old's favourite was the soft boiled egg and soba noodles. There was a small play area just outside the restaurant for the kids to play. Service: Staff was very helpful and made us feel welcome. They looked after my 4 year old while we were checking in. October was a great time to visit. There was no queue anywhere. Pros: spacious rooms, good service, good location for exploring the city Cons: need a taxi/shuttle bus ride from JR station upon arrival
Hotel clean, very welcoming and helpful . Girl at concierge was outstanding and went above and beyond expectations. Can never be thankful enough. Very friendly. Doorman out front friendliest person. All staff always friendly and helpful. Go above and beyond
"Nicely renovated; Good service"
Stayed 4 nights alone for business. PROS: * Excellent employees. Helpful and courteous. * Good breakfast (both Exec Lounge & the 2nd-fl restaurant) * Nicely decorated room. Loved the uncarpeted floor & there are LOTS of power outlets. * The hotel was presumably full when I stayed, but it never really felt crowded or chaotic at all. Also, I didn't encounter tourists from countries known for loud people. (POSSIBLE) CONS: * Location. It's sort of "in between" everything (not to be confused w/ "in the middle of" everything). It's not quite close enough to anything, yet it isn't quite far enough from anything to justify taking a cab. They do provide shuttle service (which I couldn't use because I was typically out too early or too late). * A loud employee in the Exec Lounge. She was nice, sure, but she was a bit too eager to speak to (Japanese) male guests--and it made me feel as though I were at one of those Japanese hostess clubs. I guess it would have ordinarily been fine, but I didn't want a woman flirting at 6:30 am as I am enjoying my breakfast.
"Another excellent stay at Hilton Nagoya"
After 4 years from our previous stay at the Hilton Nagoya, we planned two nights in Hilton Nagoya before our traditional road trip each year in Japan. Once again, Hilton was the perfect choice for our family. We booked two deluxe rooms, and Hilton is awesome as always, guaranteed my request for interconnecting rooms. We have three kids, and having the interconnecting rooms guaranteed was absolutely a big plus for choosing this hotel. The rooms have been renovated and I like the new design and decor. Very clean and comfortable. Amenities were from Crabtree and Evelyn. Excellent complimentary Wi-fi. The staff are as professional and wonderful as always. Very helpful. Check in and Check out and Bell Captain efficient and good English. Location of the hotel is unbeatable. There is a new (since I last visited) shopping center that opened behind the hotel, very convenient. It has a huge supermarket in there, and dining options, and a nice DIY store that had lots of interesting items for shopping or just to look at. There are many dining options nearby, and convenience stores. We rented a car, and parked in the hotel's parking for 1300 yen a night. We returned for a one night stay before our return home and because it was Formula 1 Race that weekend, the rooms were totally booked. I only managed to confirm two rooms in the standard level, and the hotel told me ahead of time there was no interconnecting rooms available. I asked to be put on a waiting list if anyone cancels, I would love to have interconnecting room upon our return for the one night stay. When we checked in, the staff were very caring and remembered my request. We paid a little bit of extra money and got confirmed the deluxe floor with interconnecting rooms. That was very helpful. It will always be Hilton Nagoya for our preferred hotel in Nagoya. Highly recommended.
