"Family Weekend Adventure"
The family decided on a last minute weekend getaway in Orlando. To make a last minute trip on a weekend, without any reservations, it is close to impossible to find hotels with any rooms available. After a long and exhaustive search on our smartphones, we found the Hilton Orlando. This not your typical next to Orlando attractions hotel. It is a business/meeting hotel right next to the Orlando Convention Center. We met Erin, who was very pleasant and explained the hotel and all it’s amenities. I did not expect to find this gem, a convention “resort” hotel. It has everything you will want for a family getaway and even more. It has 2 very nice pools (one large one with a very nice slide for families and a quiet pool just for adults), a lazy river, basketball & tennis courts, putting greens, fire pits ...the family tried them all and had a blast. We got a room on the 16th floor with a view of the resort side. It was very nice and clean. Another good thing about this hotel is it’s location for business but also explore another side of Orlando. It is close to the Orlando Eye and great places to eat. But the best part about this hotel is its people. We met a lot of good people (apologies for forgetting their names) who were always ready to help you. From the valet, to the front desk, the staff at the pool areas and Tropics... they always make you feel welcomed. We will definitely come back for another last minute weekend adventure.
"Great Service, Louse Room"
The hotel staff and cleanliness in the lobby is great. The staff are will to help you with anything you need are attentive when you call. The rooms themselves are clean but they seem to be half functional. There was a nerf dart in the chandler, the toilets don't flush correctly, the exhaust fan didn't work and the television would only receive the hotel channels and HBO, none of the other offered channels. The restaurant food by the pool was terrible unless you like overcooked burgers (hockey puck grade)
"No longer surprised"
Just a 20-minute ride from the airport, you feel at home once you settle in. This is at least my 4th Hilton stay this year, and the room and bath are generic clean, spacious and comfortable. The difference this time is that the airconditioning is very cold even at the lowest settings (appropriate since the weather outside was hot and humid). Since I am here for a convention, it becomes more convenient because there is a direct walkway to the Orange County convention center. Right across the street are a 7 Eleven, IHop, McDonald’s, Denny’s, Red Lobster and Walgreen’s. Just in case, there is a 24-hour Market Place in the lobby and also a desktop computer for internet needs, even a FedEx. I asked why this property is called a “resort”, and the answer is: there are three restaurants, a spa, a really large fitness center, a swimming pool separate from a lazy river and of course their own conference facilities. Premium outlets, Ross, and the Millenia mall are less than 15 minute taxi rides away. The staff are likewise warm and friendly with special mention going to Rhoda of the breakfast café. Not really surprised anymore, because it’s a Hilton.
"Maintenance a little lacking"
We stayed at this Hilton Orlando last night the hotel is very beautiful on the inside, the lobby and room are modern Hilton, but the maintenance is somewhat lacking the GFI outlet in the bathroom would not reset because it was broken and the lamp between the beds was not working. This hotel also charges $30.00 a day parking plus taxes. On the plus side this hotel has a lazy river pool and staff was very pleasant and friendly. For a hotel that charges in the range of $200.00 per night I would expect better maintenance.
"Sanctuary from the crowd"
Had a fireworks side room. Everything was nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and eager to help. Self parking is a little pricey, but the hotel is excellent. One small issue, no usb chargers in the room, you have to bring your ac adapter.
