"Short-Timer Attitude of Staff Showing Badly"
Starting in January 2018, this will no longer be a Hilton property. That fact has caused a significant deterioration in service. Avoid this location. From the filthy bathroom my friends found when they entered the room, to the deactivated room key on the day of check-out causing me to waste 20 minutes of my time, to the hassle if trying to get the bell station to store my brief case in a secure area It is simply not worth the trouble when there are so many other good hotels in Shanghai. I expect much more of Hilton management to try to maintain standard while the brand is on the building. I spend enough time in Hiltons to be a Gold member but it is experiences like that make me think of spending my hospitality money elsewhere.
"Oh dear it will no longer a Hilton in 2018"
It is such a shame that starting in 2018 the Shanghai Hilton will no longer exist. For those of us who are loyal to the Hilton brand we will be left with the Hilton out by the domestic airport, the Waldorf Astoria on the Bund or the Doubletree. The hotel is well situated close to line 2 of the Metro and within walking distance of the Hop on Hop Off Bus. We had an executive room with a comfortable bed and pillows plus fairly decent lighting. The black out curtains worked well and there was a great view from the room of downtown. The bathroom had a shower/tub combination and the water temperature remained constant but could have had a little more pressure for my taste. The WiFi is not the greatest and gets progressively slower as more people log in but on par with other hotels in China. The hotel will arrange a car to pick you up at the airport which is a nice feature, however, you can find cheaper car services on line. The executive lounge was well staffed and has a hot breakfast with eggs cooked to order and a Chinese selection. The staff are helpful and try to answer all your questions. The furniture is a little tired but I expect because of the change of ownership there was no need to refurbish. We were told that the hotel would continue to offer the same level of service when the new owners take over but of course this does not apply to Hilton elites.
"Excellent Business hotel"
Pros: Nice spacious room, Courteous staff, excellent breakfast, cleanliness Cons: Tends to get busy as many corporate plan events here. Overall a decent stay for business trips. Accessible to public transport
"Hilton Shanghai like home"
I enjoyed staying at Hilton Shanghai. The personnel is kind, helpful and service minded and the room and facilities were really nice. Highly recommended. The location is also very good with fast connections.
"Business in Shanghai"
It is always a hectic pace of life and meetings in Shanghai and the Hilton Shanghai provides a small sanctuary where you can work and relax even in this high energy environment. I highly appreciate the attentive nature of the team in the executive lounge in the hotel who quickly solve problems and help with arrangements.
