"Best .. by a long way"
Premium property in a premium location within walking distance to most things you need but without the hassle and noise of being right in the city centre. It is on a hill, which gives terrific city views. However, you get a fair bit of exercise walking. Fortunately, the Slussen T-Bana (Metro) station is just across the road. Gamla Stan, the old town and the royal palace are an easy ten minute walk. Central Station, Radhuset and the main shopping areas a slightly more brisk 15-20 minutes. There is a car park underground if you need it - but very expensive. Reception and concierge go the extra mile with help and advice. Customer service is king here. Breakfast is in the Panorama restaurant with a very helpful Maitre D’ and a wide choice. This restaurant does the dining for big events. Rooms are high quality, quiet and warm. They need to be warm, I arrived at a time of heavy snow and high winds. Housekeeping carried out to a very high standard. I was grateful for a cosy retreat. Eken doubles as formal restaurant and cafe bar. Local beer on tap and friendly service. The bar has a lively evening atmosphere and a reasonable playlist. Prices compete quite well with local eateries and bars. You are spoilt for choice here. Do not expect a cheap night out anywhere in Stockholm or Sweden for that matter! The only disappointment is the wi-fi. Certainly free to Honors members but slow, with patchy coverage around the property. Devices constantly dropping out and needing to be logged back in. Quite frustrating and I would expect a place of this calibre to be on top of the problem. That said, this is a very good experience which I would be delighted to try again soon. I’ve stayed at quite a few Stockholm hotels and this one is the best yet - by a long way.
"Hilton Slussen is Amazing!"
If you want excellent service, friendly staff who genuinely appreciate you then this is the only hotel to stay in while in Stockholm. You get super friendly and helpful staff with spectacular views of Gamla Stan! This hotel has it all: amenities, excellent service, centrally located and value for money!
"Great spot for a business trip"
Walking distance from the old City. Nice breakfast with an omelette station. I needed express laundry service during a multicity trip and the staff handled it perfectly. I was upgraded due to my gold status and the room was nice and modern with a small balcony and a great view over the water toward the city hall.
"NOT the Hilton brand experience expected in EU"
2017Sep Fri-Tue Stockholm Hilton Slussen - Sweden with a Gold HHonors membership and a standard room ~driving up (southward) to the hotel across the bridge from the old town is a tricky right turn you gotta watch for cyclists going up & down before getting to the main entrance which looks and feels like a size entrance ~there's no self parking and to valet is 425 SEK per day at the underground parking garage ~we arrived Friday morning and there wasn't an available room so we took a walk to the old town "Gamla Stan" which was such a delight ~returning 2pm we checked-in in to Room 5010 in Building 3 HISS following the black dots on the floor leading to the elevator at Hornsgatan was easy, just slide in your cardkey and press the floor to go up ~what you notice on the floor hall way are circular bulges on the right, those are the shower cells when you get into the room you will notice just how small the rooms are for a city Hilton anywhere, these standards rooms are surprisingly small for the Hilton brand ~when the door opens the luggage stand is hooked to the left. If you take it or to use BEWARE of the 2 Hooks on the wall. The luggage stand is tough to unfold so if you find yourself exerting any force it's the wrong way ~in the toilet you'd find the bath towel holder has a heater switch that works in the morning and evening to warm your towels. Turn it on pressing the switch nearest you ~in the shower, the SMALLEST tightest room you'd never find in a standard Hilton anywhere, they provide dispensers instead of the normal soap bars and it's broken badly ~on returning to the room in the evening I was surprised to find a towel stand next to the elevator 3/4 nights ' ~front desk staff twice said I'd have an room upgrade if I asked first thing in the morning, but there wasn't one available (I know it's on availability) just don't tell me to hold out for one if none was ever available! ~concierge/ front desk people were always willing to help with directions and recommendations so it wasn't all bad! #1 at HISS never ever book the standard room unless you can stand cramped quarters BEWARE
"Great hotel and perfect location"
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in June. The location is perfect for seeing Stockholm. We walked or took a boat nearly everywhere we went but there are other transit options close by as well. Rooms are clean and well appointed. They are small but not terrible by European standards. We ate breakfast at the hotel most mornings. There was a nice variety and cooked to order eggs and omelets. On a couple of mornings it was a bit over crowded and the service suffered but otherwise it was a great stay. We would definitely stay here again. Wonderful spot for viewing the sunset just outside the hotel.
