"Perfectly adequate & decent value"
If you want a cheap and basic hotel with easy access to Heathrow T5 this is as good as any of the airport hotels - if you want more than a bed and basic food go elsewhere . It's clean , rooms are good and well enough equipped , bar and food service is basic . Have used it several times in the last year , and always happy enough with what is offered .Only caveat would be that breakfast does not start early enough if you're on an early flight , there should be a room rate that takes this into account - Bar service also needs looking at as if there are more than 2 customers the one person behind the bar struggles
"I picked this hotel because compared to others the €104 seemed my best bet. But it is simply not worth what I paid."
They must be used to hit and runs because they have you pay each time you ask for a glass of water, beer, wine, entree , dessert, .... I finished dinner with about 7 different receipts that I paid for each time I ordered something. The hotel condition is poor, attitude is terrible, restaurant food was terrible, they have trouble finding your reservations. The excuse I was given by the front desk manager when I checked in was that they are only a Holiday Express, how could I expect more. I did find some caring employees, but they are not empowered to take care of the obviously good customers. Beware, I would suggest you go to the Hyatt Place down the road. They do not deserve three stars, at best they should have one star.
"Overnight Stay 🖤"
I decided very last minute late Saturday afternoon I would travel the night before to Heathrow as my flight was early Sunday morning. I booked into Holiday Express Heathrow T5. On arrival the reception area was busy but after a couple of minutes waiting I was greeted with a smile, a polite & friendly person before we were directed to our room. Our room was modern with en-suite, everything you need for an overnight stay or two. The bar staff were friendly & the overall atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately my opinion changed at breakfast as I have never witnessed or have I ever behaviour in the way that the other guests did that morning. I felt sorry for the staff that were working in the area as were shocked by there manners too, I asked to speak to a Manager but no one came over to see me. I didn't need to leave the hotel for another hour or so but I just wanted to go so I left for Heathrow earlier then needed to. Overall a nice hotel but other guests let my experience down. 🖤 X X
Holiday Inn Express, Heathrow T5 was a a little shabby. The inclusive breakfast which is very good, was not available until 6.30 am which is pathetic for an airport hotel. The helpful reception staff advised that if you are flying out before 10.00 am it’s not worth risking missing your flight. The hopper transfer is ok, but beware, in heavy traffic periods, it can take 45 minutes or more to make the relatively short journey. The parking was good, but we will not use the hotel again, it's simply too inconvenient.
Welcoming staff on arrival , quick check in and off to our rooms which were surprisingly larger than I had expected .Clean and fresh with a large bathroom and awesome shower .I slept well and heard nothing from either the rooms around me nor the corridor . Breakfast came with the room either cooked or Continental which was of good standard . We ate in the hotel one night their restaurant and another at tratts .Both were very good both in service and quality .All staff were friendly , looked happy in their work and could be seen helping other guests with queries efficiency . I would highly recommend a stay here .
