"You get what you pay for..."
We booked a 5 day stay but checked out after one night. Food was not good. Main pool and entertainment area was closed for repair. They had no schedule for completion. No activities. Service was poor. Alma, the "quiet pool" bartender, was outstanding.
"I would have loved this more when I was younger."
First, I have to say that the room was very nice and the facility was great. The staff was so friendly and helpful I really felt cared for. On another note: I think there were a lot of people there enjoying the all you can eat food and cocktails. For me, I prefer quality over quantity. The food was passable, but I didn't have one dish I really thought Wow, this is good. The best thing about the drinks were the price (free). We still found ourselves dining out often and getting more high end cocktails and wine. We ended up at Sardina Cantina 4 times and we were there only 4 nights.
Thus hotel is amazing... The rooms are decent but the grounds are amazing. Great customer service Enrique was the best with helping with our bags and finding our room. The food is great different varieties and very tastey. This is a very family friendly resort. The only draw back would be that it is a distance from Cabo but if you want to relax this is a great place to get away from the crowds and many vendors in cabo...
"Good Value for a cheap getaway - Beware if you smoke"
We had a room on the second floor with a small terrace. The room was fine and the beds were very comfy, lots of hot water and good water pressure. We were told by our travel agent we could smoke at the hotel but when we checked in they said no smoking on the balcony or on the grounds. We did it anyway and lots of other people were too. The bartenders at the adult pool even give you a "Mexican ashtray" which is a tequila shot cup with sand in it. We saw lots of other people smoking too so there's definitely a disconnect between the front desk and what the actual rules are....The adult pool is small but it was my favorite I just wish it had a swim up bar but it does have a bar within a few feet of the pool. The other two larger pools have swim up bars but also lots of kids. I have to commend the resort on their activities, for a small resort they had something going on all the time which is not really usual. If you wanted to join in some type of fun it was always available. The town isn't too far away and is quite quaint and interesting...lots of shops. We took a cab I'm not crazy about uphill walking on a hot day but it is walkable. The only downfall was the food choices, with only two restaurants (one was a buffet style the other ala carte) you got bored pretty fast. The buffet changed "themes" every night but still the food was largely the same. The seafood night was a huge disappointment. The ala carte restaurant has good food, the fish tacos are really good, didn't care for their ceviche I've had a lot better. Don't bother paying extra and ordering the lobster ......it was way overcooked and there was a big issue when my travelling partner didn't want to pay for the meal she got. They insisted she pay. So do yourself a favour and if you want a lobster dinner go to one of restaurants in the little town of Los Cabos and get one cooked properly. For the money though (we booked through Cheap Carribean) it's a good value and the service and drinks were very good and rooms were great too. There is a cantina on site that is open until (I think) midnight other than that there is NO nightlife at this resort so if you really want to party this isn't the place.
"I felt like I was in a Sunset Magazine story!!"
My sister and I went for four nights to this resort. Partial ocean view' That's what we ordered. We got a full ocean view and a full view of the estuary! It was so incredibly beautiful! Right on the beach, hearing the waves crash on shore, watching the horses and riders going by while drinking a Miami Vice! Bars and food was splendid. There was plenty of variety. Fish tacos were delicious as well as the al pastor tacos! Esthela in the Cantina was an incredible bartender. The adult only areas were wonderful. I requested that area since we are in our 60's and it was so peaceful and gorgeous! We even went for a half hour horseback ride through the waves on the beach! I am planning on going back as soon as I can! This is a real find and I really know what I am talking about!! :-) Also, security was not lacking, not that I felt we really needed it, but the guards patrolled the area, no one got past the guard shacks without stating their business and showing identification. There were full patrols all night long at the beach area so people could not sneak onto the property from that area. I felt very safe.
