"Just so, so "
After reading all the reviews I thought this hotel would be better than it was , and being an IHG gold member I thought at least we would have a nice club room ( there are none ) For a new hotel in 2008 sorry this hotel looks old, the rooms are dark , we found old cloths in the wardrobe and old slippers under the bed , great house keeping (not) , second day tea cups left dirty and new tea not replaced but as we arrived late at night could not be bothered to say anything . Rooms very hot even with air con off, we left window open , house keeping closed it . Big bathroom Nice bed No freebies for IHG members it's a welcome drink for one or 300 points . Metro exit is marked , then !!!!!!! Try finding it in the dark no lights in the road . Bit far from city center nine stops on metro , but that's cheap. Cinema and fast food opposite Breakfast nothing special had better in other holiday inn's Would I come again , no sorry Did not use the spa , husband said it was nice
"Large, comfortable room, excellent room service, nice bed"
I am currently staying here for a WordPress conference. The room is large and very comfortable. The bed is just the way I like it. I ordered room service last night. Excellent grilled chicken and a tasty chocolate cake for dessert. I am used to Norwegian prices so for me it is very inexpensive here. The breakfast is fine. The staff helpful. All in all I highly recommend this hote.
"A five star stay at a ring-road hotel."
Superb stay.Five star breakfast. Nice and polite staff. We stayed one night. The only negative was that the room was a liltle bit cold from the very first moment we got in, and the air condition was blowing only cold air.
"Not a good experience"
We are loyalty members at Spire Ambassador status and decided to use some of our free nights to spend in Bulgaria. On the plus side the hotel is very new and very clean. Rooms are a good size and is easily accessed from the tube. However, our stay was not good at all. We were not upgraded ( yes it does say if you are using free nights you will not be) but we have travelled extensively over the past two years and each time we have used loyalty nights we have ALWAYS been upgraded in all the countries we have visited. We asked for decaffeinated coffee in our room which we were told they would send. The NEXT DAY we rang again as none appeared and was told we couldn't have any in the room but we could BUY it in the bar. Also this is the ONLY hotel we have not had complimentary water and fruit. When asked about it we were told all the other hotels provided this but it was not this hotels policy! The final straw was on the Sunday evening when there was a wedding at the hotel and although we were on the 5th floor the music was so loud we could not sleep and it went on until 4 am. The idea of a loyalty scheme is that in return for your patronage you are treated well this was not the case at this hotel. A terrible experience and a waste of valuable points gained.
"Great Spa and Pool"
I had a wonderful 1-nite stay at the Holiday Inn Sofia from 20-21 Sept 2017. I was in a tour group of over 20 persons and we had checked in at about 8 pm. I managed to check the indoor pool facility and found that it was open early in the morning. The staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful and I enjoyed using the pool that morning. The hotel room was very comfortable and spacious and the buffet breakfast was fantastic with a generous spread of food. Overall it was an excellent choice and the pool and spa facilities were superb. Very nice stay.
