"Stayed there during a conference"
I had the pleasure of staying in the hotel for 2 nights for a conference. The wonderful team there really made my stay fantastic. I unfortunately did not note down everyone names but my check in was perfect. The gentleman there processed everything quickly, he asked how was my journey and if it was my first time in Sofia and when I said it was, he suggested a few things for me to do if I had time. I used your gym and spa as well. There was sufficient equipment there for me to have a really good workout. I also booked a massage in the spa reception and that went smoothly. The therapist was simply amazing!!! I can honestly say that I felt like a boiled spaghetti when we finished. All the tension from the flight was gone. Breakfast was delicious and I thought the chef preparing my omelette was great. He gave me a big smile and said good morning and made the best cheese and ham omelette. The team in the hotel is doing a Fantastic job to make me feel really welcomed!
"Another excellent stay at the Holiday Inn Sofia!"
I stayed here again, after three years, and had a very pleasant stay. The check-in experience was excellent with Ivo taking good care of me. I was given a top floor quiet room (an apartment!) which was very nice. Ivo helped me with the adapter for my laptop and also with the AC system. The second day I went to the gym and used the treadmill, sauna, steam room and pool. the pool was a bit busy with the same guys just 'hogging' the pool to themselves. They should make some rules regarding sharing the pool with others. The internet and phone connections were lost on the second day but they were restored promptly when I reported it. The check-out experience was very nice as well, with Nina who was very helpful and prompt. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. The only downside, if any, to this hotel is its location in the Industrial Park area, which is not very central.
"Great hotel close to businesses and metro"
This hotel is a bit outside the city centre, but only a 10 min walk to the metro which i think would take you down town or to the airport in about 15 min (one shift of line to go to the airport). Have to admit I took a taxi myself to the airport - about 10 lev. It's very close to many businesses - and that's my reason for picking this one. Breakfast was not included in my room, but if you're not in for a big breakfast, there's a cafe right on the other side of the street outside the hotel with very reasonable prices. The hotel has a very OK gym and a swimming pool, and I got one of the biggest rooms I have ever had in a hotel... Friendly and English speaking staff.
The Holiday Inn Sofia is a pretty safe choice when booking a hotel in Sofia. Agreed, it can be more expensive than others in the area but you will get a hotel that us up to western standards in terms of cleanliness, breakfast and service. We had a rather enjoyable stay, with a good night's sleep, decent continental breakfast and some time in their spa-facilities.
We were very satisfied with the service from the hotel staff. everyone was eager to help. a professional lady checked us in early which was very much appreciated. We also would love to thank Ms. Maria who made our check-out, she was very kind and we were very happy with her sincere smile and positive energy.
