The location of this property was its best feature. Perfect for shopping or getting to the park and taking a walk. The staff was extremely helpful - though I was unable to check in early and had to wait for a bit. They had an indoor pool, steam, and sauna with separate men's and women's locker rooms and a gym area. The spa was great and offered a great deal at check-in. The staff (even the overnight staff) was very helpful and attentive. The rooms were spacious and had a fun view of what Valencia really is (clothes hanging to dry in neighboring apts and other real-life views). The rooms were also very clean - consistent service the entire time!
"Very good hotel"
We spent 5 nights here on our visit to Valencia. I thought the location was very good, just a short walk from the old town. There is a bus stop outside the hotel which will take you to the beach. With respect to the hotel itself, the rooms are a decent size and modern. The breakfast is very good with a good selection available. The staff were friendly and helped with taxi bookings etc Overall, a nice but unspectacular stay!
"Great location, poor service"
We arrived early and checked in to leave our bags and were told our room was not ready - expected as it was 11am, however we returned at 4.15pm and were given the key to find the housekeeper still cleaning it! We returned to reception and after being passed between 4 different people were told it would be another 15minutes (no apology), we said we would wait in the bar - we were then offered drinks which we accepted, however they never arrived! Half an hour later we were told our room was ready - we returned to the room to find it was made up as a twin, not a double as requested. When we requested it be remade as a double bed the concierge looked unimpressed, however this was then done. Some of the staff (lady who first checked us in on particular) were lovely, others not so much and not very helpful. Nice room, but impractical shower over bath design (wide ledge around bath and curve of bath) means that you could not stand under the shower - but needed to hold the shower head to wash hair etc. Fantastic location in easy walking distance of main centre, breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice.
"A Gem in a vibrant city ."
One of the most relaxed hotels I have ever been too .So I even booked in for an extra night . The ambience was just what I needed The garden area in the terrace. was perfect . It allows you to chill out. The plants ,lime trees and herbs growing in well manicured plots .added to the ambience. As a solo traveler .it was the perfect place to stay .. my room was spacious.,with a beautiful long window that looked out at the terrace. The breakfast well balanced. If a bit cold for my Irish paltte. .Thanks to the staff, they were very helpful .esp LUIZ. ( I think that is how it was spelt ..) He had checked me in very late on my arrival. And checked in on me next day to make sure I was OK . . Made me feel very welcome .So I will be back ,and definitely recommend to my clients and friends . Thank you . MC.
"The worst "5 star" hotel I have stayed at"
The hotel, if ever a palace, was a very minor one; more like a bourgeois house. It is also quite far from the mar/sea. It probably was a nice boutique hotel (NOT 5 stars) once but the rooms were a bit tired. The walls are thin we could hear the neighbors sneeze, and as we were near the lift we could hear all the comings and goings and the street traffic noise from the wide boulevard the hotel fronts is very constant and loud, despite double-glazed windows. The staff tried to accommodate but seemed to lack training. I urge the management to stay at a real 5-star hotel such as Georges V in Paris and experience what it really means to operate and offer the level of service of a "palace."
