The Hotel Al Codega sits between the Rialto Bridge and the Plaza San Marco. Surrounding it are architectural gems, replete with history, and myriad restaurants, bars, and boutiques. One of the most enchanting areas of ancient Venice.
After a cruise we are staying 2 nights at this hotel as part of our honeymoon and absolutely loving it. (Home in the morning). We arrived early from the ship and although we knew the room wouldn't be ready we were offered breakfast and coffee. We left our bags and when we returned after a day exploring Venice the bags were in our room. The room was a great size, very tastefully decorated in a Venetian style. Loved the TV in the mirror. Breakfast is varied and plentiful with lots of lovely little tasty sweet and savoury choices. The location is perfect and the lovely courtyard outside the hotel is so pretty. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this little gem of a hotel. Would certainly return.
Hotel Al Codega was most definitely the most pleasant hotel we have ever stayed. Rooms are beautifully appointed. I think we may have been upgraded because we had a lovely spacious room and bathroom with stunning marble finishes. It is located in the heart of San Marco, only 5 minutes walk to all the main tourist attractions in Venice like the Doges Palace and St Mark's Basilica, and only 15 to 20 minutes walk to the furthest attractions like the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. The quiet little courtyard was a welcome haven every time we returned from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets of Venice. The hotel is very clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful and breakfasts are amazing. Who can have anything negative to say if you start the day with beautifully presented little tiramisu bowls and french brie' Of course there is so much else to choose from too. The selection is wonderful. All the staff were helpful but I want to make special mention of a lovely lady at the front desk. I think her name was Jadranka. She was wonderful with her recommendations and help for restaurants, transport services and help with scheduling our time for airport transfers and our visit to the islands of Murano and Burano. Her explanations were excellent and so we were able to make best use of our time. Salvatore and also the young man who looked after our suitcases, the ladies tidying at breakfast for us, I cannot mention how impressed we were with all of you. Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable and pleasant. It was easy to reach from the Rialto Allilaguna Orange line stop. Also when we left, we were rather worried after reading reviews about full ferries and rude staff on the boats. Not so at all. It was a pleasure to use and we would love to do it again. No need for the expensive private water taxis. We paid E27 per person for our return tickets at the airport. Just tell the ticket sales your date of return and they will tell you the best priced ticket to buy. As our flights were only leaving at 8.30 in the evening, we asked the hotel whether we could leave our luggage with them for the day after checking out. This was no problem. In fact we could leave our luggage in the room and they would bring it down later. When we returned at about 3.45 they offered the use of a bathroom specially for the use of guests who have checked out already in order to 'freshen up'. This is a wonderful provision. Thank you again to all the staff at this excellent hotel, my favorite hotel in the whole world.
"Delighted with this hotel"
We had just finished a 12 day cruise of the Adriatic Sea with our last stop in Venice. We planned to stay for another 3 days to explore Venice since this was our first time in this city. I booked this hotel online and picked it based upon reviews and price. I worried how we would find the hotel lugging our heavy suitcases so I checked a youtube video which described how to find the hotel from San Marco square, this was very helpful. If you leave the square directly across from the Cathedral you will be on the right path. We took the water taxi from the cruise terminal to San Marco and were met by a porter service asking if we needed help with our luggage, for 25 Euro he whisked us away directly to this hotel for which we were very great full. We arrived around 10 AM and were greeted by Jadranka the most pleasant and helpful person of our entire journey. She offered us breakfast and said we could leave our luggage as our room would be ready by 1PM. Our stay for the next 3 days was wonderful at the Al Cordega. Our room was charming, breakfast was delicious with hot and cold offerings and the entire staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel is close to San Marco Square and also close to the Rialto Bridge. We were leaving Venice by train and Jadranka showed us the easiest way to get to the train station with our luggage, no bridges! I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Venice.
We have just stayed here for 3 nights. Great hotel, large room size, and loved the hotel decor. Staff are very helpful. The hotel is in an excellent location. The Breakfast was delicious and varied daily which was a treat. We would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone and would happily return again in the future.
We travelled with a toddler in July. The location is unbeatable, close to both Rialto bridge and Saint marco square but still in a quite place, in a beautiful private square. Woke up early every mornig and took a walk to saint marco square, amazing experience. Recommendations for restaurants around the hotel from the staff were really good. Overall very satisfied.
