"not a 4 star hotel"
Rooms are very small , they are also remodeling at this time so the main entrance is closed and the side entrance looks like the lobby of an hostel , the sink is right in the room and is good for dolls but not for humans as well as the bathroom itself , no gym , no restaurant , and.... rude staff. One night we went out and after 5 minutes I realized I forgot something in the room , I went back and by the time I got back they were cleaning the floor , the guy gave that look like I killed somebody my partner in the mean time was waiting in the lobby in the area that was dry already next to the coffe station , when I got back to the lobby I waited for him to finish his coffe but someone very rudely told us to get the coffee and leave, since it was already 10 pm , the employee at the front desk did not say anything and not even apologize for the way that person talked to us. I have been in several other 4 star hotels and never been treated like this. By the way there is construction noise and one day we woke up with a pungent smell of some chemical solvent they were using.
"Great location for exploring Amsterdam"
This hotel has a great location right by the Dam Square and National Monument of Amsterdam. During my visit the restaurant was under construction so I'm not sure if the lobby I entered in is the normal one or temporary. The lobby was rather simple and somewhat worried me about the quality of the hotel when I first walked in. But once I got through to the area of the hotel where my room was located it was much nicer. A key was required to use the elevator or to go to the area of hotel where rooms were located for added security. My room was spacious and had lots of windows that could be opened for fresh air. The bed was comfortable and the room overall was very clean. The bathroom was nice and had the amenities you need like shampoo, hairdryer, etc. The one item that was not included but I wish was provided was conditioner. The hotel even left a note and a tin of Dutch cookies to welcome me in my room.
Just got back Home. We have really enjoyed our stay. Room 202 was excellent spacious, big bathroom, modern decoration, 2 tiny balcons, great view from the windows. Although there was constructions we haven't practically felt it but we have stayed only two workdays adn then on weekends there are no constructions. not noisy at all and if there is a noise from the streets closing a window helps perfectly. Tiny minors is twin bed whith not so comfortable matresses and shower temperature tends to switch from hot to boiling otherwise the hotel is faultless. Our warm suggestion to change the beds to king size, it will upgrade a lot the accommodation quality. Location is best possible, service is very good, the hotel staff is very helpful and welcoming. It was super cool to have tea&coffee amenities and nespresso machine in the room. The rates are definitely not cheap but all Amsterdam hotels are very expensive and personally it was great value for what we have got and meets perfectly our needs, we cannot wait to return after renovations are done and enjoy our stay even more!
"No Parking, Poor Service, Noisy...."
First, there is no parking as advertised. They give you 2 options at check in but give the wrong price on both. They are both public garages in Amsterdam and not convenient at all. They cheaper garage is the Double Tree Hilton garage about a 2km walk. That was 20 euro and you can not come and go. Every hotel can advertise parking if they count public garages with in 20 minute walks...... Not friendly service and the lobby is under construcrion so it is currently a tiny space with one elevator for all to use which was a problem getting luggage down in the AM. The construction noise is awful and the walls are thin. Room was ok. We booked a king /double and were given a room with 2 beds. Rooms just ok. I travel 25 to 30 times a year for work. This was one of my most unpleasant hotel stays.
"Amazing hotel - couldn't fault it "
My boyfriend and I visited this hotel on the 29th of April for two nights. The hotel is in a great location, a short walk from Central Station and the red light district. On arrival, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We got a free upgrade into one of the superior rooms - it was faultless. Not only this but we had a member off staff bring our suitcases up to the room for us. The room itself was spacious, modern and very clean. The minibar was reasonably priced and there was free tea/coffee. The bathroom was also big with a shower and a bath. Clean towels and bath robes were provided and if you requested for the room not to be cleaned, fresh towels are left on the room door. There was free toiletries provided: hand soap and shampoo. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough!!The location is perfect - short distance from the busy red light district, shops and restaurants. The hotel is secure, you use your key card to gain access to the lift, doors and room. While on a night the front doors are locked and you have to ring a door bell to gain access into the reception area. We heard no noise during the night and the staff are highly welcoming. Unfortunately, when we visited the hotel restaurant was being refurbished, so when we return to stay, we are looking forward to trying the food. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone! It really was an enjoyable stay.
