"Not The Nicest Of Hotels"
Stayed at The Hotel Andel as a last resort and it was fairly cheap. Not in the most attractive areas of Prague and letters above the door were hanging off which looked terrible. first thing I was told to pat City Tax and then had to hand over cash as a deposit.Probably to stop people fleeing for the lives in the middle of the night.
"Very basic, would come back"
Nice small hotel, clean rooms, good breakfast (even for someone like me who cannot eat gluten or lactose), friendly staff. Our room was a bit noisy because trams and cars were running under our windows. Beds were comfortable, bathroom well equipped and fridge was very handy to have for water etc.. Wi-Fi works only in the lobby and breakfast room but that was ok. The hotel is very well connected, trams and metro run near by to various directions. There is a very nice and cheap bar on the same street with very nice food and also very near a nice big shopping center and a supermarket. I would go to Hotel Andel again with pleasure.
We reserved this hotel because it has a "free parking" and looked good. The first thing we found is that they have only 4 parking places for the whole hotel and of course no one of them was free. We had to pay a parking for 18€ per day. They gave us a room that had closed windows so we couldn't see the outside. Apart from that, it was really small. We asked them to change it and we got another one, this time with views to the street. That room was a bit bigger but anyway was still small with a small toilet. The laminate was broken everywhere. The room looked at first sight clean but it wasn't. We found some spiders in the room and The toilet was full of mold. We never had wifi in our room. It works only in the reception and in the lobby. The breakfast is nothing special. The fruits were not really fresh. There was only one women cleaning the tables and filling the food, so sometimes we had to wait to get a clean table or to have some bread. This hotel doesn't deserve to have 3 stars.
"Not in Tourist Location"
We were put in this hotel by Avalon cruises and wish they had put us somewhere else. If you want to shop in a western style mall in an area where people live and work, this hotel may work for you. But if you are a tourist in Prague, this hotel is not that good. Yes, it is close to the subway (metro) and trams but is not anywhere near convenient to walk out and experience Prague as a tourist. We were also surprised at the lack of customer service in the hotel in what seemed to be a carryover from a previous era. We had a room maid walk into our room on us without knocking. I had an employee literally push me out of the way when I was trying to get a coffee so she could open a cupboard. We did find the young woman on the front desk pleasant and helpful. The room was a cheap plastic and glass concoction with no character. It was reasonably clean. There was little or no place for storage beyond a very small closet. The free wifi did work well and the free coffee machine on each floor was nice. The breakfast room was an uncomfortable chaotic experience. There was little choice and what there was, was of low quality. I couldn't bring myself to try what was called scrambled eggs. The orange juice was so watered down, it was difficult to call it orange. I don't like being this negative, but I find it hard to consider this a good hotel for Western tourists.
Terrible rooms with filthy and smelly carpets, non cooperative staff. Look like Mattress has never been changed since it's inception which result in bad back. Breakfast is not worth at all. Overall please avoid worth starless
