We have stayed on the beautiful island of Mallorca many times before and have stayed in many of the classic coastal spots. This time we wanted to try something different and so opted for this hotel in Sineu. So glad we did. When you first arrive at Sineu it feels like a mixture between a film set and a town in the Wild West - a town in the centre of the island surrounded by countryside and often feeling very quiet, but the more time we spent there the more we loved it - a true locals spot, unspoilt (so far) by mass tourism - so easy to get to so many parts of the island and still possible to eat amazing paella for 12 euros a person at a local restaurant and buy 3 beers and 3 glasses of wine for just over 10 euros at a local bar. As for this hotel, we loved it - beautiful, clean social areas both inside and outside. A lovely pool area which feels more like a private Greek temple with an intimate setting and surrounded by stone walls, pots and plants. The bedroom was lovely - cool with quiet air conditioning, lovely big and comfortable bed and a huge bathroom with nice walk in shower. The staff were always helpful and friendly and the breakfasts (which you choose yourself the night before) were always stunning. Some minor (not so positive) points to be aware of: the satellite TV in the bedroom was poor and we never managed to find an English speaking channel, the spoken English of the reception staff was adequate but not advanced (ok for us but may be tricky for someone who had more complex enquiries) and some items we selected for breakfast were not provided the next day (with no explanation provided as to why). Again, not of huge consequence for us, but may be of more irritation to others. Overall, a wonderful stay and we can't wait to go back!
Gorgeous small hotel with a stunning courtyard, perfect pool, great breakfast and the best gin and tonic we were served in the village! Only there for a couple of nights for a family wedding so we didn't eat anything apart from breakfast. I don't normally leave reviews as i use TA to manage my own restaurants etc but it was so lovely i felt compelled to give it a nice review.
"Last minute delight"
We booked the hotel five days before due to the size of the hotel, the breakfast option and location. Sineu was brilliant if you want to experience a small Mallorca town and central to explore the island in all directions. There are also plenty of bars, restaurants, amenities and a local market on Wednesday too. The design of the hotel, rooms, communal areas, pool and gardens are great and immaculately kept by the wonderful staff who are always on hand to help. Breakfast was also a treat and even though at first we thought was quite expensive, is well worth it for all the bespoke options which surprised us every morning. For a place to relax and explore the island, we would highly recommend. We hope to return one day.
Stayed here for our annual anniversary holiday. The room was large & the terrace we had was fairly private. When we first arrived we couldn't actually get in and the place seemed to be all locked up so we went and had a drink at a little bar just up the road before trying again later. The staff keep the place spotlessly clean & are very helpful & friendly. The only issues we found were the internet in the room was very unreliable and didn't work more than it did. We also ate here one night but would not recommend doing so as although the portion size of the meals was good, the very small glass of wine at €4 was not! We also could not work out why the cheese board was for a minimum of two people only. Overall it was a nice hotel if a little on the expensive side
"Short stay "
Great little hotel recommend by a client. Ideal for my meeting next day right in the centre of Mallorca. Clean and beautifully restored rustic hotel with only 8 bedrooms I think. No hot Water the day I stayed but I was up early, so wasn't too bothered, but rectified very quickly. In fact their attitude towards anything is so refreshingly positive I am certain I would come back. Bespoke breakfast ordered night before. They even had a small gym and pool which would have been great to use if I had more time. Will bring the family next time. Well done Hotel Can Joan!!
