"Luxury with value"
We stayed with our two adult children at the end of May just after the Film Festival. This was the second time I had stayed and the first for the rest of the family. The hotel is a throwback to the time when Hemingway and Fitzgerald made the Cote d'Azur their playground but with all of the modern amenities you expect from a first class property. The bird cage elevator running up and down the center of the grand circular staircase is museum-like and fully refurbished. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, well-preserved and fully updated to accommodate modern needs. If you have the opportunity, book one of the rotunda rooms to experience the full elegance of the hotel. The free wifi actually does work throughout the hotel, just in case you've experienced other hotel's free wifi that only works in the lobby. The only downside is that the location is about a ten minute walk from the beach but even that offers a benefit by being away from the tourist areas of Cannes in an extremely safe area. Their continental breakfast is incredible, offering items that both Americans and Europeans will love. The Happy Hour offers an open bar and a place to discuss dinner plans or get caught up on the day. The staff comports themselves with the dignity reflective of the property without the pretentiousness of other boutique hotels. Any problem that arose was met with attentiveness and immediate resolution and always with a smile. They respect their guests which, unfortunately is becoming rare. We have traveled extensively in Europe and, with the exception of our stay at The Ritz in London, my wife rated this her favorite hotel. Since a stay at The Ritz is usually out of our budget, this is our favorite hotel in Europe. We plan on visiting Cannes many more times in the future and even if we could afford the Carlton Cannes, we'll be staying at Le Cavendish instead.
"Very Special French Gem & Terrific Stay"
I just returned from a very special 5 day stay in Cannes at Le Cavendish. I chose this hotel with the intent to have a little quiet space between a large conference I was attending and to permit me to experience something authentic. The staff and the specialness of the hotel made my visit so very memorable. Everyone treated me like family--to which I am forever grateful. The hotel helped me arrange a pick up from the airport with a wonderful driver. The warm and professional welcome and check in was smooth and friendly. My room was perfect! While it has been noted they are "cosy" they were clean, comfortable, and yes, cosy in all the best elements of the word. The rooms and common spaces are extremely clean. My visit was during a very hot period in Cannes and the A/C worked fantastic. I had booked my stay with beach privileges--which were absolutely the right thing to do! I was able to experience the beach feeling well taken care of as well as allowing me to investigate more of Cannes. The location is truly my favorite--moreso over a locale on Le Croisette (which you still easily experience via beach privileges). Le Cavendish is close to old Cannes, Le Marché (a must visit) and cosy authentic restaurants and shopping. The breakfast and happy hour (!) were lively and wonderful--a true community. I will prioritize staying at Le Cavendish during my next visit--and I will say that Le Cavendish is a reason to put Cannes on your next locale for a holiday!
"Great typically french boutique hotel"
Just had five great days at this hotel, rooms are nice, quiet and well furnished although not to high end but thats what makes it great. Staff are excellet and all speak great english. Breakfast is all fresh and although there is not hot food there is more than enough for everyone's taste. Cant wait to go back here.
"Great return visit....!!"
This is our third visit to Le Cavendish and it is like home from home now. All the staff are great (thank you especially to Raouf for looking after us and personally welcoming us back). The rooms are spotless, great breakfast as always, efficient air con, free bar 6 - 9 pm, free wi fi and beach towels provided. I can think of nothing negative about our stay - although perhaps a light breeze would have helped us cope with 35 degrees in June...!!! Easy access to Old Town for great views, local bus to Grasse only 3 euros return and we took the train to Juan le Pins - 5 euros return, so a great base if you wish to travel a little further out of town.
My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and we had a fabulous time. The staff are excellent and always smiling and friendly. Great breakfast and the open bar enabled us to chat to the other guests where we ended up making many friends. The lift was an amazing experience, very old but always available and no long waits. Would highly recommend this hotel and only a short walk from where the bus comes in. Perfectly placed and we will return.
