"Nice Boutique hotel"
This charmful hotel is slightly different from all the chains hotels you can find around. It is well-located. Rooms are big and clean, AC works perfectly, which is important in this part of the world. Beds are comfortable and large. The bathroom is clean. The personel is efficient and nice. Wifi is ok. A bit unstable and slow, but ok. Breakfast is ok ; the buffet is not crazy, but if you want to keep it simple, it's fine.
"Price is not commensurate with quality"
The price for the hotel is quite expensive. The cheapest rate is around 5000 to 6000 pesos (promo rate). For this price, we expected so much more than what we experienced. To be fair to Hotel Celeste, this was during Holy Week. However, they should still give us the same quality of service as other days. In fact, we booked this hotel because of their "Lent Special Promo". They didn't say in the promotional materials that you also need to suffer by booking their hotel. Parking: Before we arrived, they told us over the phone that they had parking. When we arrived, they have "parking", but it's the space around (literally, on the sides) of the hotel. And since I don't want anyone else to drive my car (they offer valet parking), I had to manoeuvre so skillfully so that I would not hit the small metal posts that are in front of the entrance to the hotel. Food: I had the saddest / worst dinner and breakfast in a hotel. It's good that we had lunch before going here. At that time, we had to get McDonald's delivery for dinner because it's not available in the restaurant since the cook is on leave (I guess it's ok since it's Holy Week, but that's the reason why we went on a staycation in the first place). They told us that the cook would be back by breakfast. However, breakfast was also sad (maybe because it's Holy Week). They served dried sausage slices (which was wuite sour, but I still ate it because I was hungry), dried fried bangus (which also didn't taste like it was fresh), and fried rice (see photo). There was bread and some spreads, but I didn't get one because there were flies. They had an egg station, it's ok. There were a few flies flying around our table when we were eating. Service: Staff were very apologetic (they should be, the hotel sucks). (1) We had to PAY for the McDonald's call that we had to make (see above) for dinner since their cook was on leave. (2) We also had to pay for an unknown number that they said was dialed from our room. We told them that the only time we used their phone was to call McDonald's (and the reception since the air-con & TV in our room weren't working), but when they insisted, we did not argue anymore because we just wanted to leave. (3) When we booked, a couple (leg and foot) massage was included in our package, but when we got there, they said massage was not available and gave us coupons to a massage place instead :( Room: The facilities were quite old, but the room was ok although a bit stuffy. Initially, the aircon was not working, but they sent someone to fix it. Also, the TV didn't connect to cable, so they sent another person to fix it. The toiletries are very nice and fragrant. The light coming from the signage of Hotel Celeste outside was very bright, so please request for a room that is far from the signage. Location: This is the only redeeming factor. The hotel is walking distance from Greenbelt.
"Great location but some loose ends that need some attention"
The Celeste Hotel located close to the main malls and the theatres, restaurants etc. Great location. The service was very good. The rooms were clean and comfortable with relaxing chairs and tables. Lots of storage closets, in all very comfortable. The negatives were that the windows in our room were dirty so that it was difficult to see out in some windows. I suspect it was outside buildup. Also, the one window that opened had no seal, like a ¼ inch gap or 25mm all the way around the window, so the road noise was too loud, loud enough to drown out the TV, so volume had to be turned up quite loud to hear the TV properly. Also, there was gaps in the baseboards where the finish was missing or removed and not replaced, giving it a bit of in need of maintenance look. Also our first day the bathroom mat and the towels were very old and severally tattered, strings hanging out all over the floor mat, and old hard rough towels. Time to reassess your towels and floor mats. The following days there was a slight improvement. One other weird thing was the door was unlocked when we returned to our room. They were not sure how to explain other than that maybe we did not lock it properly when we left. If you did not close the door it sounded an alarm, but we did not notice it when we left the room. It was a snug door so you had to give it an extra pull or push to close it. Nothing was left out of place or missing so, just make sure you pull your door tightly closed, as it may not automatically close. Overall the staff were very pleasant and helpful and the hotel and room were pleasant.
"very pleasant experience."
The rooms were kept very clean. The staff, especially housekeeping staff, were very friendly, polite and attentive. The bed, comforter and pillows were very comfortable. A very pleasant sleep. Great place to stay!
I and my colleagues (5 of us) went there last night accidently since we're going nowhere for taxi to come back to our hotel in BGC area after shopping at Landmark.Came to Hotel Celeste with not so big expectation but what were happened is very suprisingly that the team last night was very helpful eventhough we are not their guest. They ordered us Grab taxi so that now we can safely stay in hotel.Really appreciate and Thank you so much for your hospitality and truly kindness.Bravo Celeste Hotel!
