"Quaint But Convenient"
Older hotel right next to the Castle. Rooms are on the small side and a little dated. However, the location is great and sheets and towels are fresh. There is a small pool and a nice restaurant with Castle view on the 4th floor.
"So-So Hotel but location is good"
Really old, dated, hotel room with no special amenities. It may be the best available if you are going to Carcassonne, but don't expect much. My room did have a tea kettle, but did not have a room safe, which is standard for most tourist hotels. My group had dinner here and it was good.
"A Very Pleasant Stay"
We managed to personally check out a few hotels in Carcassonne about a week before we were due for our 2 night stay. The criteria we used were location, price, comfort of reception / lobby area (in case of rain). We were glad we did and we were very happy with our choice of Les Trois Couronnes. It is well situated between La Cite and the old town - in walking distance of all the main tourist spots. We choose the cheaper rooms - without the panoramic views of the River Aude and La Cite, but we spent no time in the room, except for sleeping, so the view was not that important for us.The rooms are small but comfortable. Our room had the usual facilities, including tea & coffee, but milk had to be asked for and a half-working fridge with complimentary water. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was OK - the usual buffet of cereals, cheese, meats, breads, croissants and a hot plate with not too appetising scrambled egg, sausage and bacon. It certainly was not worth € 13 (we’d a 2 course meal in a nearby restaurant for €16), but the breakfast room with its magnificent view of La Cite, the city and the surrounding countryside, with the Pyrenees in the background, made it all worth the money. There is a small indoor swimming pool on the 6th floor which is quite adequate for a quick dip and it has the same magnificent views. We’d certainly use Les Trois Couronnes if visiting Carcassonne again
A very clean hotel, with friendly and efficient staff. Excellent location for trips across the river to La Cite or into the Bastid town itself. Was on a 'mature' lads rugby trip so review is different than had I been with my lovely wife - whose expectations may have been higher. For us blokes it was very acceptable. Late night returns weren't an issue, and the continental style breakfasts were just the job, and enjoyed from a room with excellent views of La Cite. Single beds were a bit /springy/ and may I suggest room safes are a standard requirement these days. Special thanks to room maids who really did keep the place immaculate.
"Wonderful hotel in an excellent location"
Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and could not fault anything, the staff especially were so help and kind nothing is too much trouble for them. The food in the panoramic restaurant was excellent some of the best food I have eaten anywhere in the world and the view of the castle lit up at night is amazing. There is a kettle in the room with tea and coffee facilities. Would definitely recommend this hotel to stay, it's within easy walking distance to the medieval city.
