"easy access to Alaya Mall"
Really enjoy this area adjacent to Alaya Mall. Have been staying in the area for many years at adjacent hotels such as the Parklane Hotel and the Quest Hotel. The big draw back being the crossing of the heavily congested road to get to Alaya Mall. On my visit in 2016, staying at the Quest Hotel, I looked for hotels in the area that did not involve crossing this roadway and had rooms that could accommodate families and decided to give the Elizabeth a try for a april 2017 trip. No complaints, good breakfast and good service from check-in to the doorman. By far the less than 5 minute walk to Alaya Mall without the fear of bodily injury crossing the busy road was a major plus. The hotel was also glad to store some suitcases for a period in excess of a week for our trip to Dakak Resort on Mindanao Island since we were spending a couple more nights there upon our return prior to traveling on to Boracay. Will be staying there again on the up coming trip in April 2018. No swimming pool although not a factor for our short stays. When we stayed at the Quest Hotel there pool was closed for maintenance and from what I saw of it , is was so small it was not suitable except for children.
"Adequate but unimpressive"
We booked a 2-night stay at Hotel Elizabeth through agoda.com. Agoda had cancelled our original reservation because of processing error and we re-booked using the Hotel Elizabeth hotline. We should have left it cancelled. There are some significant pluses for Elizabeth. The executive suite is roomy, being two rooms with two bathrooms. Their service staff were excellent: breakfast serving staff, room service, housekeeping and doormen. The breakfast buffet that comes with the room rate is very good. And its location is an easy 5-minute walk to the Ayala Center. However, the negatives outweighed these significant pluses. Yes, the suite was roomy but it stank of a musty smell likely from the carpets that were not adequately clean. The water pressure in the bathroom was poor. They also have an extra charge for the use of an iron and ironing board. The room service was good but the food was just so-so despite being pricey. The furnitures were all dated. And although on the 10th floor, the noise from the celebration from the adjacent hotel or restaurant could be heard until it ended. Finally, there is no shuttle available to take guests to the Ayala Center when it is raining, nor even an umbrella to lend if guests decided to walk. Will we return to Hotel Elizabeth on our next visit to Cebu' Highly unlikely. There is a Quest Hotel closer to the Ayala Center and our previous stay there was more relaxing and enjoyable.
The hotel is a stone throw away from Ayala Centre. The staff were friendly. We needed to borrow an iron and they charge 100 pesos for it. We were 4 in a room and they only give us one key. In most hotels I stayed with, we were given 2 keys. The wifi is so poor that most of the time you wont be able to connect. You need a key card to access the elevator and you can only access the floor level in which your room is in. Room service and food is mediocre.
pros - room size is good and very clean - very good selection of breakfast - security is good and helpful - location a block away from ayala mall cons - front desk not consistent with attitude, sometimes very nice sometimes seems not interested in talking to you - i cannot understand why the need to swipe the credit card that you used in booking online, in fact they are the only one doing it based on my experience generally this hotel is highly recommended
The room was very clean and spacious, it has wide enough bathtub, modern security access. The location is near Ayala mall and house of lechon and bars. the breakfast buffe and selection of different varieties of food taste good. very friendly staff and accommodating. the internet was slow to average and sometimes losing signal from time to time. Toilet/bathroom was clean but no toilet shattaf spray. There is no 3 pin plug for gulf gadgets.
