"thank you for the music"
we stayed at the Es Moli for eight days at the beginning of June on a half board basis. Deia is a beautiful Majorcan village and the hotel is an approx 15 min walk from Deia. the pool area is great with very comfortable up to date loungers and offers complimentary beach towels, the view from the pool and gardens is absolutely beautiful and the pool bar is a great place to have a glass of wine to finish of a days sun bathing and the staff here are warm and friendly. the hotel guests we spoke to have been returning guests for many years,so the hotel clearly has a winning formula. with the greatest respect the hotel is catering to its mature guests which is great but it was the wrong hotel for us. the hotel is obviously making improvements (new bathrooms) which is positive as it is a bit tired now in particular the carpets in the hall ways. we booked a superior room with half board, the room was spacious as was the balcony, unfortunately we had to negotiate a large window rather than french doors to get on the balcony so lots of banging of heads as i am 6ft 2.the food clearly suited many guests and it was fine, but after five nights we ate out in the village for our last three. there was an absence of background music in the bars and restaurant, but again i think that suits the audience the hotel has, although there was live entertainment in the hotel four of the nights we were there which brings me to the title of this review,on Wednesday 14th June the hotel hosted an Abba Tribute band In the pool bar from 9pm,now although not my particular taste i had never seen the pool bars so busy and although some guests were not happy, the majority entered in to the spirit and had a fantastic night and i loved watching guests who seemed reserved letting their hair down. summing up,i think the hotel needs to modernise areas of the hotel but i also understand that many guest are happy with it just the way it is

A really lovely hotel. Modern but very traditional. Excellent dinner every evening and the breakfast choice is superb. The pool is great, but definitely for fairly confident swimmers since it is deep. Pool bar is great for a light lunch, Gardens are beautiful . Staff are attentive, competent but never 'pushy'. Low key entertainment most evenings either during dinner or in the bar. Rooms are spacious and very well equipped. Overall a very good experience. Recommend floors 4&5. Hotel has no downsides at all BUT Deia village about 1Km easy walk is vastly over-rated and the roads along the N coast are very narrow, hilly and bendy and beset with multitudes of cyclists. Best excursion - park in Puerto de Soller, tram to Soller then the old 'Orange' train to Palma. A very happy day out!
"Wonderful hotel. Close to perfection."
4th visit to Deia. First stay at Es Moli. Beautiful grounds. Lovely bar. Amazing staff (only one was less than charming at checkout and she was pretty stressed). Fantastic food. Great pool. The things that make this place stand out are the little things though... Stamps on their free postcards. Simple but great.. It was my birthday during the stay and it was a miserable wet day but I woke up the nest day to a birthday card, flowers and cava outside my room. I was soooo happy. Our room was great. Any problems (noise and television) were sorted very quickly. If like me you hate clouds (and Deia can get a lot) don't hesitate to get on the coach to the cove. Its really beautiful, great for snorkelling and the restaurant there is very pretty. Just twenty minutes away there was no clouds. The only problem with this hotel is noise/insulation. The walls are so thin you can hear a noisy child a few rooms away. The bathrooms are also similar noise wise. But not a deal breaker. The mattress was memory foam and kind of sloped towards the center. I think better mattresses could be used...Just some things that could be improved if at all possible. I wouldn't travel again during the school holidays (my mistake!) Because of the nature of this hotel/deia parents can be a bit lax when it comes to their kids making a ton of noise around the pool. Deia still remains my favourite destination in Europe. I just wish those pesky low clouds would go away.
"Good Hotel in beautiful Deia"
4 nights we spend at Es Moli. A good and comfortable hotel in beautiful Deia. The property is a bit aged but has been kept well maintained. What makes Es Moli special are the very friendly staff. The restaurant offers good food. At a 4 * level and service. The location is perfect with only a few minutes walk to Deia town. I suggest a room in the main building as the dependence is quite a few steps away and has no balconies.
"Three night stay in early June"
We loved our stay at Es Moli! The rooms were HUGE for a European room. We had a terrace with lounge chairs and a view of the water/mountains. We were surprised that Deia is much cooler than the villages closer to the water since it is high in the mountains. Something to make note of if you are not going to during the warm season. Also, the hotel is a good 45 min drive from the airport up a mountain - be prepared if you get car sick! All of the restaurants on site were great, with the pool/lunch bar being my favorite. The breakfast was also outstanding - so much more than just pastries. I am gluten free and they had tons of gluten free breads, muffins, etc. upon request. The staff was very accomodating and helpful with all of our questions regarding things to do, transfers, etc. The rooms are somewhat older; however, given the views and quality of the staff we didn't give much thought to it.
