"Disappointed - but there are pros and cons"
First, the staff was all very helpful and friendly. However, the restaurant is not worth the money and is not a luxury property. The rooms are hot and noisy. There is no air conditioning and it is HOT in Europe these past few years. To get any air in the room you have to open the window and the streets are noisy and full of construction and there are no screens, so we had flies in our room after opening the window. We were not told that the road and the hotel were both undergoing massive construction projects, when we first contacted about booking. This, I believe, is misleading. There are no simple coffee/tea making facilities in the room. I asked for an electric kettle and they did put one in my room, but they did not provide cups to use with it. The room was smallish and the sitting furniture very uncomfortable. My TV did not work. The breakfast, which is a very steep 22 Euros, was excellent and we did eat there once. The area was convenient, but the hotel was less than I expected and I paid almost 600$ for a two-night stay.
"Excellent hotel, central location and great service"
This is an elegant hotel centrally located on a pedestrian street about a 3 minute walk from the Hauptbahnhoff (Main Train Station) and about 10 minutes to Marienplatz. Excellent location. It is however undergoing a reconstruction of its façade and some of the rooms toward the front. All the available hotel rooms are currently located in the rear. It is supposed to be completed by August. The construction did not interfere with our enjoyment of the hotel and our stay. The rooms are ample and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms are large with nice toiletries. There is a safe, free WiFi and a mini bar (BTW, every item, including beer, in the mini bar is only 1 Euro). The décor is very classy but not stuffy or over-the-top. There is a restaurant and breakfast is extra. The front desk and service was fantastic and my wife and I were treated royally especially since it was my wife's birthday. In short, this is an excellent hotel, in a central location with a superb staff. Good value. First rate!
From check in to check out the staff and the hotel were great. It was the best welcoming hotel for us and for our daughter, perfect baby coat (comfortable mattress, suitable pillow and a blanket also amenities for the little one). I phoned and wanted to do early check in and our room was ready at 9 am although the hotel was full. Room was silent and big enough for a baby crib, two huge luggages and a sitting area. You can walk everywhere include Octoberfest, Marienplatz, Rezidence, Assam Church in 10 min. Also the hotel is between 2 main station - Karlsplatz and Hauptbahnhof so you can reach them in 2 min. You can find many places to eat or drink and the area is still safe and silent. One of the best departure store is accross the hotel. The negative part was the lack of safe and kettle. Especially safe, it is a wonderful hotel so please put a safe to the room.
Immaculate, we were not troubled by any remodeling, looks like it is moving along nicely. Very large room with huge, well done bath. All staff have been wonderful, but Julia was outstanding, amazingly helpful. The street noise is loud so you have to keep your windows closed, which makes the room warm. Not sure how to fix due to the great central location. We wore earplugs.
"Just 50 meters from the exit from the main railwat station in Munich ."
The staff were so friendly and helpful . the double room on the 5th floor was so big and free Wi-Fi . The charm in the hotel was great although they are doing renovations at present . Within 5 minutes walk to the main Platz .
