"The best hotel someone can stay!"
Simply the best hotel. Best beds. Anything you ask they do it. Best spa. Amazing service. Amazing towels. Amazing Everything. Full stop. Great Location. Best concierge service. More than 5 stars hotel.
I Enjoyed lunch here on a very hot day after viewing the changing of the guard. The restaurant located on the lobby level is beautiful and the salads we had and the bread basket were delicious. It was also well air conditioned and a welcome relief from the mid day sun. So happy we decided to "take a look". The rooftop was very expensive, but the view was incredible. Had I had more time in Athens, I would have loved to have a drink up there at sunset. Next time...
"It's got even better!"
Since I last reviewed this Athens marquee hotel more than 5 years ago, it's improved even more. Previously I was critical of some minor blemishes including long check in/out delays, the absence of an egg station or hot order menu at breakfast and coffee/tea facilities in the room - all now seem addressed. The location speaks for itself and is unparalleled. Service is unquestionably top end and bespoke and importantly fitting for this iconic hotel from the moment of arrival to your departure. Breakfast is in itself a drawcard served on the 8th level GB roof terrace with those stunning views. The pool area on the 7th floor roof top is hardly large but copes well with peak periods and there always seemed to be sufficient lounge chairs in or out of the shade. On this topic the staff at the pool area were outstanding and anticipatory. The rooms are as you would expect a little dated but nonetheless opulent and very comfortable and include comprehensive and top end bathroom amenities. A very special mention to Alexandra Mamidaki who authored one of the very best responses ever received to my pre-arrival email and oversaw the obliging of a couple of special requests. Would I return - I would not stay anywhere else in Athens!
