"Weekend birthday treat"
The hotel is stunning and staff are very friendly . Close to the city . We got a train 12 euro and that was all day pass . It is 3 stops on the train and 10 minutes. The bar at the top of the hotel has stunning views and fantastic cocktails
"A 2 Star Ibis type hotel "
Called a 4-star hotel but simply a well located budget hotel in a good location. The room was clean but very small. The bathroom is the smallest I have ever seen. Good view on the port if you get the right room. Can be quite noisy. The breakfast is overpriced so I skipped it. Very friendly service.
"Recommend the new wing, don't stay in the old!"
I have stayed at the Hafen Hotel twice now and can definitely recommend the newly build wing of the Hotel. It is a day and night comparison to the old part of the Hotel, were charming just stands for old and in desperate need of renovation. The newer part is perfect for a business trip and I would definitely stay again. Although there is some strong competition in the near vicinity.
"Great views but challenging ascent"
Hotel attains all expectations of its grade with regards to rooms, staff and service. Request a room with a harbour view and you will not be disappointed. Breakfast buffet and dinner in the restaurant is excellent but expensive if you are not on a special deal although the views are fabulous on a good day. The Tower Bar is great but very small and gets crowded (especially during happy hour) - make a reservation if you want a seat with a view of the harbour. Easy to walk to all main attractions from the hotel although the 100 steps to the hotel (that are difficult to avoid from the Landungsbrücken station and harbour) are a challenge particularly if you have to carry up heavy suitcases.
"Oh my! What a place."
Guys, if you ever want to visit a great place in Hamburg, look no further and just go here. 1) the view from the rooms towards the port is AMAZING. (OK, you have to ask for a few select rooms to get this view, but hey: isn't that normal' 2) the breakfast' Don't get me started on that! The food' The ambiente' The staff' Did I mention the view from the breakfast table' No' It's all awesome. 3) the bar on the highest level of the hotel tower is a place you just need to experience. Yeah, you might need some time to get in, but still: it's worth it. 4) try to get up early in the morning if you are there for a weekend and visit the fish market. That's another interesting experience. I won't say no more. 5) did you hear about St. Pauli' Well don't go near the Reeperbahn too late in the evening unless you want to have some adventures, but it's worth the walk. I could go on with the reasons why to stay here, but I think you catch my drift. To keep things short: It's a hotel worth staying in. Period. OH... Well... The parking might get a bit challenging.
