"5 star service without the 5 star price"
This might be a teaching hotel for the university but you would never know it. Starting from 30 days before I arrived when I requested via email that the hotel book a hard to get restaurant. No problem. When we arrived in HK our bags didn’t make our connection in Dubai. The airline gave us the paperwork. We booked the Tesla car service via the hotel which is worth it. When we arrived a guest relations person met us at the door and took us to the room for the check in. When she heard about the bags, she got all of the information and said she would track them with the airline. When we got back after a day of touring, there was a note under our door asking us to call the desk. They had the bags and brought them up to the room immediately. My wife needed an emergency dentist visit. The hotel found 3 options and made an appointment for us. The building is lovely, breakfast buffet is huge and tasty. Our room over looks the harbor -worth the extra money. The level of service is excellent. FYI on the location - the hotel is not in the middle of all the action like some in Kowloon and central. It is very easy to get to the MTR via the blue line or taking the hotel shuttle to the red line. Taxis are cheap here. We had no problems getting where we wanted to go very quickly. As long as you don’t want to be in the middle of everything, this is a great place to stay.
"Excellent hotel with impeccable staff"
We spent three nights in the Hotel Icon at the end of our nine day stay in the region. We opted for a Club 38 room, City View - the amenities were excellent, as to be expected, and the inclusive minibar a welcome bonus. We enjoyed the Above & Beyond lounge - a decent selection of very good quality canapes and drinks (nice Singapore Sling!) and a superb view across the harbour. The staff were excellent, and particular thanks to Bonnie and Ning who were not only superbly efficient and made us feel very welcome, but lovely and friendly people too. The hotel is well positioned for shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity (and don't miss the excellent Hong Kong Museum of History, just five minutes walk away), but the hotel shuttle bus is very convenient for accessing Tsim Sha Tsui, Canton Road and the Star Ferry Pier. The gym looked to be well equipped, but not required after busy days of tramping the streets of Kowloon and Hong Kong - and particularly after a gruelling decent on foot from Victoria Peak. Who knew that going downhill could be so exhausting'
"Fantastic stay at fabulous hotel"
We stayed 4 nights in a Club 38 Harbour View room. Thoroughly enjoyed the room and facilities particularly free cocktails on the top floor and 2 really good meals in the Above & Beyond Restaurant. Not the cheapest hotel we've ever stayed in but well worth it. All the staff were brilliant but particular thanks to Yuki who looked after us throughout our stay and Chung who delivered us safely back to the Airport.
"A fine stay in HK"
We stayed in a Club 36 room with Harbor view, the views were spectacular, you get a free mini bar and there is also a club room which allows you to eat breakfast in the restaurant above and some appetizers in the afternoon. The food in the hotel restaurant is very good, we had dinner there one night. The breakfast in the restaurant is limited and the service was very slow, unless you haven't had enough of the views from your room or you want the solitude, the breakfast downstairs is the better option. My opinion is that once you pay for the Club 36 harbor view you are up there in Peninsula territory, and this hotel is not the Peninsula.
We were here for just one night on our way to Australia for our honeymoon. We loved it, the service was impeccable and the room was beautiful, well designed, and had a very nice view. We really enjoyed the pool with the gym.
