"A gem hotel in Hong Kong Island"
We stayed at Hotel Jen Hong Kong mid May, and were very happy and satisfied with our 4 days stay. We arrived in the late evening and check in was fast. They even upgraded us to the Club floor! The room is not big, but then in Hong Kong, what can you expect' I would said is comfortable for 2 pax, with enough space to move around and for luggage. The bed was comfy enough and they have all the basic necessities you require. Room wifi was good and strong. For the location, it was very close to HKU MTR station - the Hong Kong University MTR Station, and you could easily find food around this area, I must compliment the extra services provided by the hotel staffs. Upon check in, both Timonthy and Jacky were very professional and gave good advice to the places that we were considering. They even offered us umbrella when it was raining. When one of us fall sick, the housekeeping team leader - Daniel - went extra mile to help get a personal thermometer for our usage, and the front office staff - Crystal - also called to ask how are we feeling. WE are very happy and pleased.
For city hoppers who are always on the go. Basic and simple service that you need to pull you through your adventure or business trips. Love it here because of the simplicity and good location. Nothing extravagant and humble room size with basic amenities. Local neighbourhood area and subway right next to the hotel. Located at the HKU(Hong Kong University) subway stop and is only around 3 stops away from Central station. They also have shuttle bus to the airport express station. Love the view and ambiance at the Club Lounge. Petite but everyone have their own space. Cafe Malacca serving authentic Malaysian dishes for those who live abroad and missed home like me. There is also a delicious wanton noodle shop right across from the hotel which I did not manage to try. Heard it has been there for more than 10 years. Check with the staff for the name of the shop.
"Good value for money on Hongkong Island"
This was our second stay in Hotel Jen. If you want to stay on the Island and close to Hongkong University, this is the perfect place. As last time, we went for the Club Harbour View-rooms. The view is fantastic, and the staff are very friendly everywhere.
"Secret Treasure in Western"
This lovely hotel, tucked away on Queens Road West is a delight. Close to HKU subway station and in the middle of a lively, typical Chinese area of Hong Kong, this immaculately clean hotel is a must. The staff are very helpful and energetic. The Malacca restaurant is simple but serves some of the very best Malay/Indonesian/Singaporean food in the region and is famed for its cuisine. The rooms are small but the space is economically used. There is a gym and the roof top pool has to be seen !
"Find comfort and relaxation away from the Centre"
The Hotel Jen is in a 'real' neighbourhood, and has an MTR station right beside it, on the Island Line. This is a really comfortable and quiet hotel, with an excellent fit out and amenities, including a rooftop pool and gym. It is well worth purchasing the additional Club Lounge and breakfast package: excellent value, for evening drinks and canapés on the 28th floor, and a great buffet breakfast. The harbour view from this hotel is to the west of the typical sight line, but no less attractive for that. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended for a cheaper but very pleasing alternative to the Centre.
