"Long weekend break"
Our first visit to Valencia and we loved it. Hotel was great. We had a deluxe room with sea view and terrace. Large bed - which was very comfortable and room kept very clean. L'Occitan products in the bathroom. We were really lucky with the weather and enjoyed the huge outdoor pool every day - and also took advantage of the pool bar facility 🍸. All the staff were lovely and Anders, the concierge was really helpful. It was easy to get around and we enjoyed travelling on the tram to the old town. There's a run down quaintness to Valencia that we liked with a mixture of old and modern architecture and we hope that any improvements, which are bound to take place, retain the character of the place. The breakfast, included in our room rate, was excellent, it is served until 11am so can have enjoy a lie in if you wish. We found that it was sufficient to last us until dinner. Lots of lovely fresh fruit, hot breakfast, beautiful Spanish cakes etc. We sat outside every morning complete with our Cava and orange juice! We would avoid the beach front restaurants. There is a great tapas place - La Otra Parte opposite the hotel. Best tapas we had while we were there. Young and enthusiastic staff with an alternative take on the normal tapas fare. You reserve a table via Whats App. We splashed out on dinner in the hotel on our last night - expensive 147 euro - but very nice with a good bottle of rose and a couple of vodka/tonic aperitifs - we had forgotten how big the Spanish measures are! We stayed for 4 nights and have come back feeling really refreshed. We would definitely like to go back.
Mixed experiences at Las Arenas. The location is beautiful, right at the beach and the staff are all very friendly. Especially the concierge staff. The rooms are relatively spacious. The room price is clearly based on these positive features. On the other hand, the close neighborhood of the hotel is run down, the hotel is far away from the center (+25 minutes by taxi) and from the stunning science and art center (+15 minutes). The bathroom is in dire need of an upgrade, and the bed was on wheels and would constantly roll from the wall. Finally, not the fault of the hotel, but taxi drivers in Valencia really need to learn how to drive safely, start experiencing some healthy competition, and stop offering not to use the taxi meter for a supposedly better price.
We stayed here for two nights and I have to say I was very happy.... So we decided to stay 2 nights again a week later. We booked one of the nicest suites for 1000.00 a night. Never have we been treated so horrible at any resort we have stayed at!! Absolutely apauling the horrible treatment. I would never stay again!!!! I am disappointed and disgusted at the service at the front desk, the restaurant (diner &breakfast)
"Hotel staff excellent throughout, especially Beatriz the concierge ."
We had a room on the first floor with sea view and a balcony that was as big as the room with sun beds , I would advise a sea view room as the view onto the fountains and gardens that are beautifully lit up at night.great breakfast as this is a five star hotel there is a Hugh selection of hot and cold meals as you would expect.
Everything was excellent!!! Great view from the suite balcony! Nice breakfast - lots of different fruits and delicious cakes :) Location is near wide beach. Spa is well organized - different pools and jacuzzi:)
