The Belvedere hotel is the ideal accommodation to relax, unwind and enjoy a pleasant stay. Before transforming into a hotel, it was a former hunting lodge devoted to meditation. The Belvedere is charming, welcoming and offers high quality services. This is the ideal stay where you can take a break from your everyday life.
The Belvedere welcomes beautiful air-conditioned en-suite rooms which perfectly combine modern comfort and respect for the environment. Some rooms also have a terrace with a splendid view over the countryside.
The restaurant serves local specialities accompanied with a selection of wines. You can taste the traditional, refined and original flavours, prepared by the chef and the staff, in the shade of the terraces.
The Belvedere is real haven of peace that houses the Terracotta Institute, a '5 monds' partner spa, which features a traditional sauna, a fitness centre, a swimming pool and outdoor Jacuzzi and five treatment rooms. Every effort has been made to ensure moments of relaxation.
The Belvedere is the favourite place of nature lovers. The hotel is located in the Midi-Pyrénées region. It overlooks the valley of the Barguelonne, where the most beautiful villages in France, the medieval town of Lauzerte is located. The Belvedere rises in the heart of the Southwest, in the middle of a triangle Cahors-Montauban-Agen and Quercy Blanc.
"A pleasant weekend in the Tarn-et-Garonne"
We spent a great weekend at the hotel. My favorite part of the Belvedere was the amazing pool, jacuzzi, beautiful view of Lauzerte and the surrounding countryside. The hotel itself is very nice. The restaurant was very good but on the expensive side so we only had one dinner there--we wished there were more less expensive options. However, we were more dissapointed in the €15/per person breakfast -- seemed pretty basic. I would recommend bringing your own towel for the pool as this is not provided (or you can use your room's bath towels) We were both unable to connect to the wifi on the hotel property, perhaps too many people were connected at the same time. I had an excellent massage, and I would definitely recommend scheduling one ahead of your stay. We could see ourselves returning for another trip to le belvedere.
"Fur coat & no knickers!!!"
We booked this hotel for one night as we were visiting the area. The pool is beautiful and well maintained and the general standard of cleanliness was good. But... we arrived about 4pm and were informed that our room was not ready, fair enough, we could wait 10 or 15 mins by the pool. On the day we had had a late breakfast so no lunch so we were hungry (diner was booked for 8pm) my husband asked at reception if we could get a snack, bread and cheese or something, no, the kitchen was closed and they couldn't provide any food so my husband had to drive to Lauzerte to get a baguette etc. We were shown our "family suite" over looking the pool, two rooms both with double beds, we have two kids so twin would have been better! Room was clean but bathroom was tired, old fashioned tiling and poor finishes, needed an overhaul. My son had a shower and promptly flooded the bathroom!! he got scolded by us then I had a shower and realised why he flooded the bathroom, the shower head was not compatible with the holder so it pointed straight instead of down, the water hit the bathroom wall, ran down and flooded the floor!! the only way to stop this was to hold the shower head which defeats the idea of a shower. We asked for more towels to mop up and told them the issue but apparently no one else had mentioned it previously'' We spread the wet towels to dry over the patio at the back and discovered the previous occupants sandals, so much for room inspection. Dinner, no "menu enfant", (we were not the only family with younger kids staying), the chef just simplifies the adult menu which in our case wasn't really suitable ( veal & mashed potatoes). The food was nice, if a little cool but considering we ordered three different main courses, beef, veal and guinea fowl, they were all served with the same "jus/sauce"''' I certainly wouldn't rave about the food, we did have much better meals elsewhere on our holiday. Breakfast, usual french buffet style with a staff member to assist, breakfast finished at 10am whether you were mid breakfast or not, at 10am on the dot she pulled the curtain over the food area and it was closed! and considering they don't serve food in between meals if you over slept you were stuffed!! The staff were friendly and tried to be helpful although I think a little stuck in their ways!! At the end of the day, the surroundings are beautiful, the pool and view lovely but to be honest that,s what you are paying for not the food, rooms or anything else. It wasn't an unpleasant stay but could have been so much better.
Last night we have had dinner in the restaurant of Belvedère. Food and wine were really good but there was only one waiter for 12 tables. Hè was a profesionnal but he was stressed and didn't had time for anything. It was quite annoying. If the standard is "slow food" than there has to be a certain kind of atmosphere, where you feel you are welcome...It wasn't there at all. This in combination with louzy chairs to sit on, made the evening not a totally succes. What this restaurant needs is a friendly hostess, that's my opinion.
"Great hotel for a group but slow restaurant"
We spent 3 days in this hotel in June 2015, for a workshop with a 10+ people group. The hotel is very charming, nice AC rooms, great surroundings, and nice swimming pool and jacuzzis. The food and drinks were great too, but the service was too slow (maybe because we were a large group ... but it was impossible to have lunch in less than ~2 hours) and the "server-in-chief " wasn't very friendly. Also, we always had to insist to get drinks during lunch and dinner. Wifi wasn't very stable. All in all, a great experience.
We visited the restaurant only and were impressed with our meal. The food was of a very high standard, beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. The restaurant is a pleasant room (quite small) and the service attentive and professional. Our friends treated us, so I can't comment on value. After our meal we wandered outside by the pool to take in the stunning views across to Lauzerte, it is a great shame that the restaurant doesn't benefit from these views, that would have earned a rating of 5 rather than 4. Well worth a visit.
