"The best hotel I've stayed in"
Great service, from the charming James to the guests who come to the hotel and know exactly the names and where to go, and to Andrea in a dining room that instantly makes every dream on the plate! Yes, everything that dreams get! Breakfasts of kings, rooms are very charming and clean and the whole hotel just makes you want to come back again and again! We have been several times and will always return when we are in London. Thanks to Cafe Royal for the wonderful experience!
"Outstanding service in a perfect location"
Steps from everything and one block from our offices. Very decent room size. Everything top quality. Interesting architectural and interior design mix of traditional and contemporary. Staff is impeccable, courteous and prompt without trending towards either servile or stuffy. Although the location is amazing, my room was great, the tech up to snuff and the food on point, the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Somebody really knows how to hire, train and motivate people.
I haven't actually stayed in the hotel but during my stays in London I always visit Café Papillon for tea and cake or lunch. I love it here! Staff always absolutely wonderful and everything is to die for...seriously. Great atmosphere and great location. If you like cake you have to go here. This week I had the Raspberry Rose Lychee one and Salted Caramel....omg... ❤ 7 pounds and sooooo worth it! Earl Grey tea and fresh mint tea...yum. And they have soya milk. I'm already looking forward to next month!
"Little slice of heaven in the centre on London!"
We have just returned from a short break in London to celebrate my partner's 40th. My criteria was that the hotel must be central, luxurious, great kerbside appeal (as it was a surprise where we were staying) and that it had a spa. I spent a long time researching hotels and decided upon this one as it ticked all the boxes and more. From the moment you walk through the revolving doors you are hit by the most fantastic aroma. I would have bottled the smell if I could. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly and not the least bit stuffy (something my partner has faced in other London hotels). Andy showed us round the hotel and to our room. Again, extremely helpful and friendly. The room we had was a junior suite and was designed in masonry stone. Very unique and classy. The bathroom was decked out in Italian marble and even had a tv in the mirror. The main tv in the lounge moved which was also an interesting feature. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Even the hallway getting to the room was beautiful. We spent an afternoon in the spa which was beautiful. Very luxurious and peaceful. As it was for my partner's birthday I made a comment when booking the hotel and I received a very quick response from the Duty Manager Benjamin and then his colleague Beatriz in Guest Relations. I was asking if there was anything special they could do to make our stay more memorable and in response they provided us with a complementary bottle of bubbly, macaroons and a birthday message on our arrival. Very nice touch I thought. If you're looking for a beautiful hotel with the benefits of a traditional building (tall ceilings and beautiful architecture) but with a contemporary feel and minus the stuffy atmosphere this I can highly recommend the Hotel Cafe Royal. You will not be disappointed!
Wonderful afternoon tea at cafe royal. Staff so polite, catering to every whim. Went for anniversary celebration. Lovely ambiance, piano player played a variety of tunes to suit young and old. It is expensive but worth it.
