A great experience and at a fair price for central London. The service was excellent and friendly. Afternoon Tea is in a beautifully decorated room with a pianist. The food was a really high standard and delicious, the tables well spaced for a private conversation and the room a perfect temperature too on a hot July day. With service charge and a bottle of water the cost came to £50 without champagne, which felt a fair price for the wonderful experience.
"Great location boutique hotel"
Liked the location and great service from friendly staff Don't like added service charge as should be discretionary. First room offered as an upgrade was dingy and in the attic. Not an upgrade in my opinion. Rooms with a Portland stone finish much nicer. Timber panelling to halls bland and makes them darker.
"One of the best 5 star Hotels in London"
Me and my fiancée go to London a lot as we love the city and we always stay in different Hotels (4 and 5 star Hotels only) around Piccadilly and Soho or Knightsbridge/Belgravia. From all Hotels we stayed in so far, Café Royal was by far the best experience we had! From the moment we enter the Hotel to the moment we check-out we feel the warm and always extremely nice presence of the staff, without over doing their job, so we don't feel overwhelmed by their presence (as we felt already in some Hotels). Once you enter the Hotel all the noise and turmoil of Piccadilly and Regent Street is gone! Checking in was easy, simples and quick and before we were shown the room, we had a nice introduction about the Hotel history along with a tour to know the Hotel amenities. The decoration of the Hotel is just amazing. The mix of the original classic of the Hotel and the very minimalist but very elegant modern Rooms is without doubt one of the best mixes of decoration we've ever seen from all the Hotels we've been so far around the world. We stayed in a Deluxe Guest room in the 7th floor and it is gorgeous as well as very spacious. The bed was a king size and very comfortable. The bathroom had heated floor and loved the fact that the shower did not let water come outside of the bathing area (even if you don't close the bathing area door) as it happened to us before in other Hotels (where the shower floor is at the same level as the rest of the bathroom). I know it's a very small detail but believe me, when you get water everywhere in the bathroom after a shower it's really annoying. Specially if you are trying to get ready to go somewhere. Overall the room is spacious, well decorated, has the right light (natural and not natural) and the soundproof walls do a great work! Had the opportunity to have a very nice dinner, breakfast and mid afternoon snack in the Ten Room. Once again all the staff is just amazing! The food is fabulous and the portions are just right! For the breakfast you have a very nice menu, not to long but with a couple of different options! I had the Continental breakfast with some scramble eggs, some orange juice and a Mocca and my fiancée had the English Breakfast with some orange juice and a cappuccino, along with some patisseries. Once again the portions are just right and all the food was very tasty and the scramble eggs were just on point as we ask them. No need to say that the patisseries were amazing as well. Bottom line, we feel this is what all 5 star Hotels should aim for. We had a perfect weekend
Busy cafe in fantastic location, just a stroll to the farmers market. I am a chef so I love to dine out when I get the opportunity to see whats happening in our industry. Food was supberb, tasty and beautifully presented and so was the coffee. kids meals were also well thought out. Would highly recommend.
"Fabulous hotel, fabulous location"
A wonderful hotel situated in the heart of the West End. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was large, bright, and clean. The food and atmosphere in the restaurant Ten Room was excellent. It was a great experience!
