"Disappointing experience "
We came following recommendations and as high as expectations were the disappointment was real. No creativity imagination ,not tasty, extremely small portions with no compensation in other aspects at all . The chestnut soup was tasteless a bit sour. The scallops carpaccio was boring The main course was banality of making a fish with vegetables. The sword fish was dry. The 2 desserts we took were less tasty Or interesting an any meaning than any other we enjoyed during our week in Provence . Big disappointment.
"Charming beautiful and friendly"
I stayed on my own for 3 nights and was made very welcome. My room was charming - overlooking the grounds and as quiet a place as I have ever been. At night not a sound at all. I was looking for peace and quiet and to be well looked after and it ticked all the boxes. The staff were quite international and very cheerful.
"Outstanding provincial hotel & garden"
Gem of a hotel in garden surroundings. Spacious, comfortable rooms with abundance of natural light, updated contemporry furnishings. Set within lovely, extensive private gardens, an oasis of calm several kilometers from downtown city of Aix-en-Provence. Hotel replete with inviting pool separat from park. Lovely inside/outside restaurant. but didn’t have a chance to try the food (except excellent breakfasts) because I was visiting friends. But will make it a point to next time.
"Le Pigonnet Deserves More Than 5 Stars!"
Le Pigonnet is a fine hotel with a smart, young staff of international problem-solvers, exceptional service, remarkable attention to detail and very much the 'spirit of France'! We loved our room, especially the spacious and well-appointed bathroom. We arrived to Le Pigonnet from a barge trip on the Rhone. So, our room with a balcony looking over the gardens and pool offered serenity, charm and lots of little amenities we missed on the barge. We requested (long in advance) a tour of Aix with a focus on Cezanne. The concierge introduced us to Ms. Seror (Sophie) and she is an energetic guide with tremendous depth of knowledge about Aix old and new. Sophie helped us shop for childrens' gifts and will customize your time in Aix and environs to suit your needs. The hotel grounds are exceptional. We walked into town four or five times even though it was quite warm during our stay. The hotel will also arrange a ride. We were in Paris, then on the Rhone and still feel this Aix hotel experience was noteworthy.
"Beautiful hotel and all that goes with it."
This hotel is lovely, the grounds are simply amazing, and so beautiful. Our room was wonderful, we had a corner room with a balcony, and windows. The room was very large, the closet space was a whole wall of closet, the bath was very modern, large, and very nice. We stayed 3 nights and would have loved to stay longer. It is a hotel that we would go back to. We had dinner one night there and it was excellent, we had lunch at the pool one day and that was very good, drinks in the bar one night were fun. The gardens are beautiful to walk through - just the whole package was excellent. The staff is very energetic and went out of their way to please us and accommodate us. Their command of the English language was excellent as well. We could not recommend this hotel any higher.
