"Lovely hotel in a great location"
Just returned from 4 days at the hotel at the end of our Canadian holiday. We loved our large, spotlessly clean room with a view out across the river. Comfortable bed, heated bathroom floor and lovely toiletries added to our enjoyment. The hotel is perfectly placed to explore Quebec with many places to eat and drink around the hotel. All the staff were highly professional and friendly - check in and out was fast and efficient. What would have made it 5 stars' Robes in the room would be nice and not being limited to 2 cups of coffee a day (Keurig machine but only 2 pods per day supplied). Would highly recommend the hotel and Quebec.
"Manoir Victoria Rivals The Chateau Frontenac"
On my second stay at the classy Hotel Manoir Victoria, my quiet 5th floor room commanded a sweeping St. Lawrence River view. Service at the Manoir Victoria is efficient and well-mannered. An attendant took personal care my car was safely garaged in the hotel's adjacent "stationnement". For guests arriving in Quebec by train at the Gare du Palais station, one could walk in theory to the hotel in 5 minutes were it not for the steep ascent of the Rue de la Gare. Walking back downhill to the station is a breeze; but, taxis at the station and elsewhere in Quebec City are plentiful. My breakfasts were very good. I did not eat at the hotel's well-known Boulay Brasserie. But I should have,...given its reputation and popularity. Considering the hotel's quality, my room rate (June, 2017) of C$215 nightly (plus taxes) was worth every penny. The nightly garage rate is C$27.00.
We arrived late as we travelled by train checking in was quick and easy, the room was lovely and with an unexpected balcony, The staff were friendly and helpful we would stay here again it was excellent
"Warm Welcome, Great Location"
Warm and friendly reception on arrival after a train journey from Montreal. Lovely, light and airy rooms, beds unbelievably comfortable. Bathroom was modern with great shower. The hotel is in a good spot with the main shopping street just a few strides away. The restaurant gets very busy and we were disappointed that there wasn't a separate bar to relax in the evening. We tried to use the bar but were unable to and even told that the stools at the bar were reserved! Had one evening meal there and it was good with informative service.
Hotel was good, actually very good but no great. We expected a more personal service from staff. They did their basic job and nothing else. Similar to a business class hotel. Nevertheless, the location is perfect. Just in the heart of everything, walking distance from the bus station, restaurants, shops and tourist places. Rooms are fine. Comfy beds and clean bathroom, excellent shower. Sleep quality could be improved with better window shades. Good working wifi. If returning to Quebec will I stay here again' Probably yes, without expecting too much from staff and of course if getting a competitive rate. Last thoughts: we booked thru Expedia and supposedly we are VIP guests with enhanced benefits, in reality we didn't get anything.
